Hi All

I've been using the scenario editor for some time now, but i think there's probably a lot more you can do with it than i know how to!!!

Can anyone help with a few instructions on how to do a few things? I'm particularly interested in adjusting the territorial claims of countries.

Thanks

Personally, I would strongly advise that you look at the files in notepad, get to know them, learn what effects what, and edit them manually.

It's far more reliable and after a little practice, extremely easy. :)

I would advise against using Excel - it's a little unreliable with regards to HOI coding, causing a few errors. I recommend notepad because its such a dull programme, nothing can really go wrong...

The biggest problem with the scenario editor is that it doesn't really save scenarios, it saves savegame files (probably using the same code as the game). So any changes you make later to leader files, minister files, the event list file, etc. will not affect games started with that "scenario" and once it's in savegame format reloading it doesn't have the same effect as loading a real scenario. If you add techs to a country in a savegame they have no effect except that they can't be researched. If you add techs to a country in a scenario file they take effect when the scenario is loaded.
