I liked forming Scandinavia in HOI2, it made them powerful enough to decently guard the Norwegian Coast, and I only needed to conquer Sweden in addition to the normal Denmark/Norway, sometimes Finland too.

Isit only Swedes proposing this? Never Finns or Icelandics? There's a reason why it's always the Swedes, never the Danes or Norwegians, that propose a Nordic Union.
Because Sweden has the largest population, which means that the Swedes would inevitably have the biggest say in such an union.Isit only Swedes proposing this? Never Finns or Icelandics?
Why is that so do you think?
An united Scandinavia was not a possibility at this point in history.
It was more and more unlikely after Sweden backstabbed Denmark and Norway by both being neutral and enabling the German war machine to advance. Sweden let trains go freely carrying soldiers and military equipment to the battle of Narvik during the invasion of Norway. The Swedish government claimed they were neutral, but that's not true when you look at the evidence. It was more than possible if we all had been involved in the war, the effort of rebuildning our countries in the event that the Germans bombed our lands.
And look how well that turned outGiven the circumstances at the time, Denmark would never have joined a Scandinavian arrangment. Denmark followed a "German-friendly" policy so as not to provke it's much larger and powerful neighbor to the south.
At least we "propose" a union rather then forcing oneThere's a reason why it's always the Swedes, never the Danes or Norwegians, that propose a Nordic Union.
Sweden allowed German troops access to Swedish railways in order for German troops stationed in Norway to rapidly transfer of the 163. infantry division to Finland in preparation for the upcoming operation: Barbarossa. It was more and more unlikely after Sweden backstabbed Denmark and Norway by both being neutral and enabling the German war machine to advance. The Norwegian prime minister at the time even went so far as to say "If YOU were able to have a conversation with Pehr Albin Hansson (Prime minister of Sweden) then you should give him my greetings and say that there are two things i desire to experience, which are that the Germans are thrown out of Norway and that i get to live so long as to have the opportunity to yell and make a fool of him (Hansson) and his whole government" He also said "..there are nothing, nothing, nothing that I hate with such a burning flame and so wildly as Sweden - and this is his (Hansson's) fault"
If there even was an opportunity for a Scandinavian Union, Sweden had to come in defence of Denmark and Norway instead of enabling nazi expansion.

Yea, you are right of course and the evil scheme of it all is that the Danish population would in such a union have to pay twice as much tax as the rest.... LolBecause Sweden has the largest population, which means that the Swedes would inevitably have the biggest say in such an union.
Yeah, let's get back on topic -yeah...soo....can someone close this thread? i wanted do discuse ingame game event/mechanic and not politics and throw around blame.
But you can see how a failed country. Made up by two people that hate each other can be a tag? And which one of the two Hitler very much wanted in his own Grossdeutschland.Yeah, let's get back on topic -
I think some formable countries should be in the game, most importantly Austria-Hungary, but I just don't see how an united Scandinavia is possibly post-1864.
I kinda need to defend my point now, so sorry for derailing. You told me to get my facts straight and still while I provided a source, you didn't. I just based my post on a book (called "Blodsporet") that got published and the article summerizing it up. My point was that even if it was a slim chance of it happening if Sweden came to defence of Denmark and Norway, it certainly wasn't when Sweden proclaimed neutrality (and let the germans access their railways transferring miltiary equipment).Sweden allowed German troops access to Swedish railways in order for German troops stationed in Norway to rapidly transfer of the 163. infantry division to Finland in preparation for the upcoming operation: Barbarossa.
German troops on leave were allowed to use Swedish railway for travel to and from Germany, not for transportation of war material and mass troop movement for attacking Norway.
Get your facts straight before condemning my nation, this is after all a Paradox forum not a YouTube comment field.
But now you're making the assumption that Mr Hansson is elected Prime Minister in September of 1936. There is plenty of time (9 months) to make sure that another politician takes his place. It was more and more unlikely after Sweden backstabbed Denmark and Norway by both being neutral and enabling the German war machine to advance.
