So we all know Scandinavian Elective is bugged but i thought id start a discussion or bring to light this part.
Ive been watching AI play (i set up the game in debug & do Ai timelapses) and Scandinavian Elective is horrible for Ai, there is never any generaltional wealth as there is never a son(so he get part of the counties from the founder) or a strong ruler inheriting (unlike Saxon elective) and one of the reasons why might be the because of how Voting power works. So its based on Total Dev, meaning that having a high stewardship is incredibly strong, or having a lot of domains, which just so happen to not work well with the elected king only getting a single county- the capital.
In the case of the AI Denmark here, the AI voted heir for the kingdom is a grandson of a person who was king 2 kings prior. he is not closely related to the current king or any of the dukes.
The current king has 6 sons to choose from so its not like theres no one to vote for.
The King also for some reason doesnt get additional bonus to his voting power(He get influency through force vote/tip the scales-trust judgement, but no personal power vote), so the election was ongoin/held after the king died, but all the time he was alive he would have great influence on securing power for himself & his personal choice.
A random nobody count with 3 counties would have more voting power than the king with this system ( if their dev is similar, which often happen since counts/dukes focus on their own domain and doesnt have to use promote culture/culture acceptance as often as a king -due to smaller total realm) & kings often end up with only 1 domain, since they are often unlanded.
For some reason there is no bonus for being the son of the king. (which would be raised to become the next in line. The succession was not completely limited to the sons of the current monarch but it was often between the heirs and the oldest son was usually the one to inherit). Not only is there no heir bonus(Implicit claim), but they dont even get the +15 that the other claimants get. (the guy ai voted for get +15 with unpressed claim)
Implicit vs Unpressed claim doesnt seem to matter either, the Sons with Implicit claim get 0 bonus, while the grandson of a dead king two kings ago gets +15 bonus to voting power with unpressed claim.
King holds 1 county -capital with 29dev & +17 Popular opinion.
Jarl halfdan of holland holds the duchy of Holland, 3 counties +2 baronies in those counties.Dev 25,23,20. +9 Popular opinion.
