Indeed the Joysoft site doesn't list the price for the game; however the german EU site of Blackstar mentions a price of DM 89,95 http://www.europa-universalis.de/bestellen.htm
I guess Joysoft will charge a similar price;
for delivery outside Germany they charge an additional handling fee of DM 20

Oh! The joy! I have now ordered the German version of Europa Universalis. As I am a Dane, much of the German language is understandable for me, although I never had it in school. Now, I hope that I will be able to 'decode' the game

Yes Vurbil, from the view of an individual consumer interested in getting the game sooner rather than later it's regrettable that Paradox isn't willing to do as you ask.
However, from a marketing perspective it's understandable. They obviously fear that they might diminish their chances of getting a good publisher deal if they started selling the game online themselves.
A good deal would ensure them that the game will be available in lots of shops, which probably would promise better sales than just through the internet.
My gut feeling is that if they don't succeed in getting the sought-after publishing deal, they'll eventually come around and offer the game online. I would sure hope that that scenario doesn't come true however. The larger the sales, the better chances for an even better sequel

Do you have any more info from HDinteractive
about a release in the Benelux ? i know it will be a French/Dutch version but that's all and there is no information on their site.

Up to now we do not have any news regarding a release date.Distribution will be for Holland and Belgium and there will probably be a Dutch/French version.

I guess HD interactive is just a publisher.
They will (try to) close contracts with wholesale companies that supply shops like Vobis, V&D, etc. and probably a couple of online stores as well.
Just stay alert and we'll find out.
My best guess would be however that it might take at least a couple of months yet before a dutch or french version is being sold. Hold your breath ....
I've decided not to sit it out and buy a german version of the game.

Vision Park (Nordic distributor) has (at last) a small page on EU, screenshots from the betatest in english. The minimum recommendation on their page is a 233 MHz processor.

Just a few thoughts about this topic:

1. I do not either speak, write or read German (besides those well-known words such as 'Panzerfaust', 'Schnell' and others that, I am sure, will not be very useful in EU).

2. Due to '1', I will not buy the German release. I'd better wait for an English one (whenever that comes). Besides, I would be very surprised if any beta tester sold their beta copy. After all, I imagine they are bound by confidentialty agreements.

3. No matter how much I want to play EU, I will wait patiently until Paradox decides to release the game in English. It is worth waiting, if the game is good... and I feel this is going to be the best strategy game ever.

4. I understand you people complaining about the changes in the Scandinavian release date. Honestly, I do. But at least you have something to look forward to! Us English/Spanish/Catalan speakers have no such thing. I am looking forward to the day I will be able to complain about release date changes... (sigh)

5. Johan, out of curiosity. Are there plans for a Spanish version?

Well..... if they hadent given us a realeasedate that said 27th October then we wouldnt have complained. But when you say its gonna be out very soon and you delay it by almost 2 months then we have the right to complain. They could have done what Valve have done and said that the game will be out 'When its finished'.
Then we wouldnt have a reason to complain.

But Paradox never said October 27, true they said October. But Now they saying December 1 and that the first time they have given a specific date.

I suspect that the product is finished but the publisher likes a relase December 1 better (for the Christmas sales)

there probably will be no english release this year, so when i get the german version on wednesday, i will translate all txt files and put the language 'patch' on a website(if sapura would like to sponsor my language patch it will be his site). i can and will change those txt files, so dont doubt me. if anyone in north america wants the game and cant find anywhere to order it from, just read cptn kiff's thread about our distribution project.
