Scandinavia: 1890-1936 w/ Great Wars

A new great war update just came out, and it hopefully fixes the problem, so I can start great wars now. Well, after I research Mass Politics. And just so you know, the name changes finally kicked in, before I put a new country name change mod in and it wasnt working, now it is, the flag mod is working too. Austria keeps offering us white peaces, but we wont accept anything less than what we have asked for.
On October 1st we finally invent guards!!!, Ive only been waiting forever...

Here are the guards that we order.
Now Belgium added a war goal, Hungary acquires Alfold. This is going to be one ugly region by the time were done. All we are doing is occupying.On december 3 we won the occupation of Pozega. Those troops now move to Oraeda.
On December 12, Austria finally offers us our peace deal, acquire Croatia. Here is the map before.

There are currently 6 wargoals in the war with Italy that we left.

Just another port in the med to escape to in case Italy somehow doesnt join me in a great war. And more population and factories.

Yeah, they cant get to it because of Belarus and Austria.

sorry this isnt the update on the country, its the alliance blocks, and their formations.

The Alliances of Europe

So, our country is gearing up of a big war even though one has just ended. The other Great Powers did not look kindly upon Italy and allies demands of more territory than they have claim to. France especially was upset about this, They have despised Italy since Sardinia Piedmont and the pope betrayed them, fighting with Scandinavia to take Lombardia. Scandinavia then unified Italy under their leadership, without French approval. So, France despised Italy. Also, France and Germany didn’t like each other. To combat the French animosity the Germans and Italians formed the Rome-Berlin Alliance. This naturally led to French and Austrians allying, forming the Bordeaux Alliance.

Britain had felt threatened by Germany's growing naval power for some time. Ever since the communist takeover, The German government has been placing more importance on the navy. With Britains vast Indian and African holdings, in addition to Australia, Newfoundland, and New London (Washington), naval superiority was of utmost importance to them. So, the British Empire was a natural ally of France and Austria. There name was changed to the Century Alliance. This was because they were founded on January 1, 1900. It was created to protect the security and existence of some of the oldest nations in Europe from the challenges of a new century. In particular, the upstart nation of Germany and Italy, both of which combined many countries into one unnatural union.

America, another new relatively new nation to the world stage, and a stalwart ally of Germany for many a year, was also pulled into the entanglement, now formalizing their pact in Italian occupied Salzburg, a great affront to the Century powers, who took to referring to Germany, Italy, and the USA as the Salzburg Alliance. The USA supported Canada in their escape from dominionship of the British Empire. Also, they claimed Washington, but Britain owned it.

Russia was the only major European power besides ourselves in Scandinavia that was still neutral in the alliance blocks, more than likely the sides for a great war. We were officially allied with Germany and Italy, but expressed our desire for their to be no conflict in Europe. If we did choose a side, then Russia would almost certainly be on the other side to try to reclaim Finland, which they believe is rightfully theirs. We also hold Spain and the Ottoman Empire under our wing, so our choice could be the deciding factor if it came to war. These are the alliance blocks of Europe right now. I apologize that I made these alliances instead of letting it play out naturally, but I wanted it to be a real Great War. We still have not decided on a side, and anyway, you have to have Mass Politics, which I can only start researching now. So, vote on which alliance you want Scandinavia to join, there are three choices;
A. Century Powers- Britain, France, and Austria.
B. Salzburg Alliance- Germany, Italy, and the USA.
C. Whatever side that is the opposite of Russia, so we can beat them up.
 
I say (B) Salzburg Alliance. You've already fought in a war alongside Germany and Italy, might as well carry it through. And with Croatia, you'll already have a nice spring board into an invasion of Austria in the hopes of knocking it out early. Plus you can invade the UK from your position, even though technically it would be easier to invade Germany if you were join the Century Powers. Still, I stand by my vote of (B).

Sometime in January, in the year 1900, a telegram from the Kaiser arrived. I was invited to come to Salzburg, still in Italian hands, to talk about matters of “grave importance”. We had already received many messages from the Century Powers, each more urgent than the last, warning us about making the wrong choice, while at the same time promising great rewards if we joined their side. These messages were promptly ignored, until the Salzburg Allies had made their offer. Italy in particular had my full attention. Our people, and in particular my queen Christiana, still thought of them as our children, we helped them defeat the hated Austrians, and remove French influence, to unite the peninsula. If I chose against them in the war, there would be many people that would not be happy. The car ride boat ride from Stockholm to Danzig was uneventful, but it was nice to be out on the open sea again after having been cooped up in the palace for so long. When the rebellion started, I had leave Goteborg. The funny thing was these rebels wanted to give me more power, even though I did not desire it in the slightest. In Danzig, there were no less than five ships under construction, no wonder those Brits felt threatened. My bags were unloaded, and loaded into the train. We had trains in Scandinavia, but nothing of this quality. It surpassed anything our engineers had ever created, so naturally I asked for the blueprints. Even though we had been their stalwart ally for many a year, they still wouldn’t share something that could help them in the war effort. Pity. My quarters were superb, the meals were toasty, helping to keep warm, even though the temperature was mild compared to what we were used to up north. As we pulled into and then out of the station in Berlin, I couldn’t help but wonder whether this decision would lead my country to ruin and the downfall of the second Kalmar Union, or eternal glory being remembered as one of the countries that helped defeat the old regimes of Europe, and liberate countless souls from their tyranny.
When we arrived in Salzburg, the snow had just started to fall. The flakes were light, not at all icy. There was already a soft layer on the ground, from the previous night I had been told by the doorman. The accommodations were nice, but not the best I've ever seen. This was an occupied city, and some of the buildings had burned to the ground in riots.
In the morning, after a hurried breakfast, the leaders of three of the most powerful nations on Earth sat down together to discuss whether we would pledge troops to support either of them in any future conflicts.
And the rest is history. I added my signature to the famous Salzburg Pact, Christopher II. We are formally a member of the Salzburg Alliance.
 
Woot! Now...conquer Europe.
 
I lost the screenshots for this update, so it will just say pic instead of having one, sorry.
 
The alliances are all formalized, Russia the only neutral great power, Austria is dropping, so Japan will be soon. Every member of an alliance is protecting every other. I had to tag-switch to make them, but they were all very plausible. Now, finally back to normal gameplay. I will do the full country update right before the great war, so that it can show before and after.
So, its January 1st. Our mobilized brigades dropped from around 100, to 78. Well, we did loose around 400,000 troops. Now that the war is over we are finally getting the cars we need for the Guards. We decide to try again when on February 1 our expedition to the north pole returns without success.

On March 26 Russia decides they want their cores back from Austria, and declare war. France and Britain both decline to aid them. Looks like I will have to remake these alliances after that war is over. Thankfully no one has invented mass politics yet.
On April 6, we finish Naval Plans, and start on Mass Politics, Great Wars here we come!!
Now Serbia declares war on Austria. I feel bad for them, their getting completely torn apart, and its not even a great war. Here is two pictures of all the wars against them. Thats a total of 8 wargoals against them. If Great Wars were invented, I might make France and Britain intervene, but its not worth it as is.

Japan is now a great power. Austria will have tons of rebels when their wars are over. I spoke too soon, the very next day, this happened.

A reactionary rebellion. I wish they had gone communist, but better than nothing, we had a lot, and we weren’t even occupied at all. On July 12, another exhibition comes back without a trace. We pay more money. Germany also declares war on Austria. Now it looks like this.

The warscore is now 85 for the war that I was in. Some of my regions have 70 percent craftsmen.
August 21, Belgium added another wargoal. Now a total of ten in all the wars. September 4, another rebellion. My militancy is up because my war exhaustion is up, because I have occupied provinces, which are occupied by rebels, which are because of militancy, its a never ending circle. They arent small groups either.

and Belarus declares war on Poland, we get an invitation to host the 2nd Olympics. We accept. Its very cheep, we could host 976 of those. December 30, Russia accepted peace from Austria, and Italy had another rebellion.

And there is a big war. France declared war on Germany. Yay. It will be the Great War. I will have to go back to the autosave to fix the alliances, so this is the end of this update. Anyone know how to make AI automatically accept when you call allies, like when it auto calls when someone attacks you, I want Italy and USA to accept. It might not be a great war, since you need to have Mass Politics at the beginning, which no one has. But it will still be a big war. Actually it might be over quickly, so I can remake the alliances at the end.

What was the result of the rebellion in Italy? Just a normal rebellion, or was there a change of government?

I'm not sure if its going to be a big war, because no one has invented mass politics yet which you need, and its just germany and me against france. italy and the us didnt join. I think the jacobin rebels are still their, though maybe their wiped out, their wasnt a change, right now italy is one of the only absolute monarchies in Europe.
 
My computer is having some problems so the next update might not be for a while.
 
It will be fixed tomorrow, so hopefully i will have an update tomorrow, if the savegames still there.

Edit: sorry, but it wont be until next sunday, I am going to be gone for a week and the part didnt come today
