A certain general; They're traitors, cowards, enemies of the state, or you just plain hate their mustache. How is it done? Is there a cheat for this? I mean, not a cheat, exactly, just a left out feature. "Arrest that Man!"

F12
then ?? I know each leader has a number; then what?

Not implemented in the game as far as I can tell. You can only write events to retire a leader or minister.

For events it's easy to add a line to get rid of a certain leader e.g.

command = { type = sleepleader which = 9984 }

dunno if you can do it directly via F12, other than by triggering an event.

Hmmm...gots me ta'thinkin' how wouldja copy or add a new event, say something based on 1050

# Commander Assassinated by Enemy Commandos
#
id = 1050
command = { type = sleepleader which = -1 }

or 1140

# Failed Coup d'Etat - Traitors executed
#
id = 1140
command = { type = sleepminister which = -2 }
command = { type = sleepleader which = -1 }
command = { type = sleepleader which = -1 }
command = { type = sleepleader which = -1 }
command = { type = dissent value = -10 }

and call them 1051 or 1141? Can a wildcard be introduced so that pesky leaders with giant handlebar mustaches _and_ sideburns get the axe?

dnt get it...

where'd it get moved to? and why? Call me a noob, but I've been playing HOI since 1, so maybe neophyte fits better. Anyway, it's pretty easy to write an event. I wonder if there's a way to add a sleepleader directly to the F12 screen?

This is the most reasonable of the suggestions. :p I really like that idea, but it would have to be linked to an actual attempt at a coup, like when the dissent/partisans get out of control, and so on.

Or, it could also be historical -- the failed assassination attempt aimed at Hitler, and suchlike...

I wrote one

But it's targeted, of course. I basically copied the 1140 (failed coup) event, and set the random to no, removed the triggers, and then replaced the -1 in the sleepleader lines with actual numbers of leaders that were either dumb, ugly, or both. I figured that since I paid the price of a 30 point bump in dissent for NOT purging the red army, I could discretely take a few guys out fishing in Lake Biakal. Of course it was raining, so they were wearing their cement overcoats, and you know how slippery boats get.

So I offed about 20 generals. It's an easy script to write, but you have to go through the effort to pull the leader file for your country and figure out who's a pain, and who's not.
