Saving & Runetime Problem

Game works fine for about 30-45 mins. After that point the saves start taking about 5 mins, the next 2 or 3 times it saves after that the music starts looping and the game crashes with runetime error - C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings II. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU) 1/ before starting the game up and 2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install SPEEDFAN or GPU-Z.

Updated drivers and played the game - same problem
Game version is v. 1.103(WQLL) and the only mod i have installed is keyboard shortcuts

I see nothing wrong with your game installation at all. Has it always done this since you first installed, or only since what change or update?

How much memory does the game take immediately after you start, then after say 30 minutes, then when the problem starts happening?

Can you please try it without the mod loaded, see if it still happens?

Yes its always done it since i installed it. Normall CPU on the start and when problem starts with looping music but once game crashes it highers cpu usage. Tried it without the mod and it still happened. The way i got around it for them moment was to launch it from the ck2.exe in the CrusaderkingsII file but that loads it with no DLC but i could still play the England playthough even though it was an old gods start. When i tried to play as a pegan it said i didn't have the DLC which i was not suprised to find out because it had launched with no DLC because of the ck2.exe. I just want to play a pegan game for longer than 30 mins .

I was asking about memory usage, not CPU. This is shown in Task manager - Processes - ck2.exe

BTW others in this forum have discovered that exact mod does cause game crashes with 1.11, so stop using it until it's updated accordingly.

I have stopped using the mod and it still happens. Memory usage 1,602,634k at start 1,752,132k when problems start.

Looking back over your files I do see this

Not quite sure what to make of that, to be honest. Your problem smells like a memory usage issue, and your note that you play with no DLC and it works fine kinda ties in with that. But why that would be afflicting you and no-one else is a mystery. One guess is that a DLC is corrupt, you could try a full clean reinstall:

If this is Steam: move any valued save games elsewhere and uninstall the game from within Steam. Then manually delete ALL the CK2 directories from under BOTH the Steam and MyDocuments folders. Now reinstall the game from Steam, and run the Verify just to make sure it all came down properly.

If this is GamersGate: Move valued save games elsewhere, and uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 directories from where GG put them and from MyDocuments. Reinstall the game (this time pick somewhere NOT under the system path c:\program files\ ), download 1.11 patch again and apply it.

Completed clean install and there is still the same problem. Played for 30 mins, Saves got really slow all of a suddend, looping music, then game closes with runtime error.

And if you play with no DLC loaded it's still OK for any length of time? Can you narrow it down to any particular DLC, if so?

Not that there's any such problem known with any DLC, just trying to narrow down the scope of the issue.

Thats what i was trying to avoid doing because it will take ages lol. I will give it a try tho.
