Savegame loading problem in 1.03b

Hi, I've played three games now, where games saved after 1851 wont load. When I try to load them they just hang on the progress bar for ages and do nothing (caption: reading scenario). When I bring up task manager, Victoria shows as Not Responding. I have 128MB RAM, and a 1G Duron Chip. Anybody know what I should do? I was playing my first real game as Japan, I'd just annexed Korea and was looking forward to starting the real empire building phase of my game, so I saved and exited and went to bed, and now this!

If anyone can help me I can promise a nice lovely AAR for your Vicky-porno pleasure, maps and wars and strategems and all the juicy stuff Victoria enjoyers enjoy, good eh? you like? Then please help.

You know, it's funny. Just before I logged on to the forums just now, I saved and quit a game I was playing as Austria. I had taken the Balkans from the Ottomans. I had conquered the small South German States. I was second only to Great Britain in prestige, third in industry, and third in military strength.

It was February, 1851.

Sovereign, for my sake, please be the only person having this problem.

:wacko: That's funny, I just so happen to be a collector of fine and rare Coincidences...

I'm not sure if this is a bug yet, I'd thought I might need more RAM, the minimum spec says 128, reco spec says 256 so...

If however this is a bug, and not the kind of thing that can just be text file edited and forgotten about, then please move this thread to the bug forum Moderator dude.

similar thing happened to me as prussia before 1851!

i have just reinstalled the game, so i will see if thats fixed it

Sometimes it looks like the game has completely stopped, but when you go back to the desktop and return to the game, or switch between applications, you notice there's actually an error message window waiting for input on some corruption of the file. (I must admit it only happened to me once in Victoria, but I got that many times when fiddling around with HOI.)

The problem with Sovereign's save was about half of it, including all the country data, was missing. I don't know if it crashed while saving or if his install is messed up or what. If your save isn't working, check how big it is. If it isn't at least 10 megs something is wrong.
