Saved game files

Noob question: where are the saved game files for HoI2 saved? I have a lot of files saved and want to delete some/most of them. But when I goto find the files on the hard drive, they can't be found!

I'm using Windows 7 Professional.

For me it’s
G:\Paradox\Hearts of Iron 2\scenarios\save games
for my old CD version of HoI 2
or
M:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Darkest Hour A HOI Game\scenarios\save games
for my Steam version of Darkest Hour.

I thought so too when I saw the file name--nothing there. And yet, the games show up when i call up the game and I can play them!

start > search > hoi2.exe
use that path than ../scenarios/save games/
probably a paradox entertainment/interactive directory in program files/ (x86) if you have win7 64bit

I'll check--thanks--odd that a search by Windows can't find a file in there!

No luck--even checked under Users\[my name]\ no file for Paradox or Doomsday.

Set the search parameters to 'my computer'
it may have searched a particular disk that doesn't contain installed programs

The external only has one program on it (WCopyfind) and all my documents.

Barring all that (for some reason) you could check the control panel's program files directory. It should display a HoI2 installation and it's executable path. The shortcut you use to access the executable should also contain a path.

Yep, that's where I have been looking.

What is the extension of the saved file?

C:\Users\'your user name here'\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\ ?
Probably need to enable hidden files via explorer properties. An HDD search would also need to have hidden files checked.
If the saved games aren't within that directory than I give up. Win7+ """security""" features are retarded.

So - you are really sure that you actually have saved games saved on your hard disks?
When searching did you search for FILES containing *.eug in their names
or (as I accidentally do sometimes) for files containing the text *.eug in them?

I remember that FtG did use .EEG files but I don’t remember the format of HoI 2. Perhaps search for them too?

Did you set the Windows search to search in ALL local hard disks?

That was it! So, when Windows searches the HD, it doesn't look there!

Yes--even the one for HP (the company that made the laptop).

a have HoI 2 + Doomsday + Armageddon and win10. but i cant open "save" game. In folder save gave is "temp" 0 KB ;/ help pls.
