During a MP game, some players were unable to pay loans. We saved, and restarted. Now those players have bankruptcies, and the game appears to CtD every few weeks. Any ideas on how we could fix this (by editing the file, perhaps?)?

Thanks

Sometimes you get get 6 loans in MP due to the auto-loan lag bug. This normally happens when someone is in a big war and spending close to their limit.

If the game is saved before a loan becomes due, you see 6 loans in the saved game file. On reload this automatically gets converted to a bankuptcy. At least I'm fairly certain this is how it works.

None of this should cause any CTD's, but you might want to try editing out some of the loans from just before the bankruptcy to see if it's more stable.

From my experience, when autoloans cause the infamous 6 loans, only the client save will register the six loans, while the host save will register a bankruptcy. I.e. it seems to be a case of server/client miscommunication. Thus, while a player can see that he has 6 state loans in the ledger (and in the save game, should he make a client save), once the game is reloaded the officially correct version of reality - the server's - is enforced, and in that one he has a bankruptcy.

Well, if you keep a sufficiently large treasury around (about twice the size of the individual expenditures you make), you are more or less immune.

Yes, they are still an issue. We had it happen to two different nations in one war last week (Sweden and England).

No the host save can also show 6 loans, though they get converted to a bankrupcy on reload. We had this with two nations in the Birth of a Nation host's save file so it's definately not just a client thing.

And certainly not a nice one. I only saw the high inflation as OE and the remaining one loan.
