Save games won't reload and autosaves are missing not found

Since 1.0.3 patch came out:
1) when playing single player there has been no ability to use the continue play option when I come back after a break.
2) When the "load" option is used to find the games I get a variable result -- for two variants which ended in 477 and 490 the game will load and is playable as usual. For a game save at 507 (year) and 523 when I press load all I get is the begin new game at the beginning screen. (I am playing as Carthage in all of these games)
3) autosaves which seem to be happening yearly during these games are nowhere that I can locate either in the game or with file locator in windows.

None of these problems were present with 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 (I don't think I played 1.0.2 variant due to travel)

Note playing on PC with steam version.

I'm not aware of any reason why save files would be deleted by the game or Steam.

Local saves are held in /documents/paradox/IR/save games/

Cloud saves are in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/userdata/<YOUR STEAM ID>/859580/remote/save games/

If the saves are physically there but the game does not see them, they must be corrupted. Let us know what you see in those places.

The local save game file folder is totally empty.

Cloud save game file has four files SEE ABOVE first message -- the files for years 477 and 490 are each between 85 and 90 KB but the ones for the 506 and 523 years are only 1 KB each.

Neither file has any autosaves at all.

I see. Obviously the 1kb saves are not valid save files.

As it's happened more than once I can only assume it is a game bug. Check in the Bug Reports forum to see if it's already been reported there. If so add your bogus saves, maybe there is something in them that gives QA a clue.

If you are playing Ironman the regular saves overwrite the existing save file, there are no separate 'autosaves' as such.

Thank you. I had gone to bugs first but no one had replied. I will go back. By the way I have not been in iron man mode and way back when with 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 there was always an auto save file in the load game areas that I presume was annually overwritten but there is none now with 1.0.3

Yearly. Do you know where the autpsave is saved or is supposed to be saved to?

Very curious -- In another new game the save game works what hope is quite normally up until about the year 500. (4-6 save games in two different starts from the beginning).. The save games are found in the cloud section of steam and go up to 95 kb in size with the file size increasing with time. After the year 500 (actually 503 at the earliest and 526 at the latest) again x 5 or 6 the save game for all are 1 KB and when you load it goes back to a partial new game beginning panel where you chose your nation etc. Could this be a file size problem with the save game and is there away to save the games to the local drive rather than the cloud?
