Save Games refuse to load.

Athlon Xp2500+
515 RAM
Radeon 9200 Atlantis 128MB

Hoi2 loads normally, and I attempt to load a save game that was saved the night before, however, it gets about 2/3 of the way to finished "reading scenario" and stops, Task manager says it is not responding. I exit, reload, even with a different country and other settings. Nothing. Other savegames will also do this, however not all.

Im thinking savegame corruption somehow, but after one night?
Hoi2 was reinstalled about 4 days ago, and I imported a handful of old savegames, but they arent the only ones that fail. Hoi2 is patched to the latest 1.2.

I installed modern day, but I completely removed hoi2 from my hard drive and removed all registry keys before reinstalling so there is no way anything is left over.

This happened on my first hoi2 install too.

It also occurs in Victoria and probably Hoi. Strange.

Nothing ever fixed it. The savegames would not load, so I just disregarded them and started new games. Very annoying, but nothing will fix them, however, if you know what could cause a savegame to get corrupted, do tell. Otherwise, its trial and error and invading france more than is healthy.

That is very strange, you cannot load any save game from any Paradox game?

Obviously you should not be having this problem.

Something must be wrong with either your memory or your drive.

You have not done any editing at all?
Did you install to the defualt drive and directory?

No no. Not all. Just random savegames, perhaps one out of three will fail to load at a later date. This isnt a blanket problem, but more of a annoyance. If its any assistance, it will "read scenario" until the bright green bar Just touches the far right edge of Mr. Churchills pants, and then stop and I am required to kill it.

So if one of your saves fails to load you can still load another save from the same game (For instance Autosave or old autosave) and continue on past the date the other one was save at?

Correct, which I would think points to the savegame corrupting, rather than a game error.

Can really say other have reported this much.

See if you can identify any comonalities, between when this happens.
Ie Paras loaded on planes, Amphib operations ... anything really.
