save game files gone

So my sloth empire had dozens of planets before I left, I was getting to late game and feeling very smug...then I log in to find I have 12 planets total... a save from just after release day. I then look at the other save and it is from the same time. They are saved as offline iron man files...is their any way to get them back either through the game or a hard drive recovery tool? Am i doing something dumb or is this a bug?

note- posted in main forum as well as im not sure which location is more relevant.

I just lost my Iron Man Playtime from yesterday evening... 6 hours gone
Patch 1.0.3 Problem or something with the Iron Man Mode is horribly wrong. I am 100% sure it saves in intervalls but aparrently not writing it into the file or even the cloud file

hmm, I have not had any problems since I switched to cloud saves. Fingers crossed.
