Since the iberian update I cant load the savegames I tried to edit. Even if I just unpack the zip and try to load the unchanged gamestate.ck3 the game just doesnt load it and says its corrupted. Anyone having the same problems or anyone who knows a fix?

I reverted back the to the 1.6.0 version and still cant edit unzipped saves. How can you edit autosaves?
My autosaves don't require unzipping, can just straight up open them in an editor. Not sure if that's a setting I've selected - can't find anything like that.

I am 100% sure I have edited unzipped saves since Iberia update came out, so not sure what's happening.

Thank you for your answers. I am not sure what causes my issue either so I will just have to try my luck

Best method for me atm in terms of save editing.

1) Back up your last autosave/manual save (in case you goof up).
2) Next time you want to make a save file for editing, exit out of the game while checking the create save function to make an "autosave_exit" save file.
3) Back up this new save you plan on editing as well to be sure.
4) Edit the save using notepad++ or whatever other text editing program of your choice.
5) Keep the notepad++ file up (because of step 6 is why)
5b) If you still break your save, you may have made a typo or used the wrong term for something, or maybe accidentally changed a date/value and removed the period.
6) If it works, have fun. Rinse/repeat as desired to override stupid things like your supposedly "chaste" spouse wanting to get beheaded after you torch their lover.
