I tested it in my copy and it worked....guess it's something else entirely.
Just a nitpick: 1836. 1834's not in the game
That would basically be starting with a clean slate, but yeah, it should indeed work (because savegames don't matter there...even if there is no reason for the event not to work, apparently).
Hopefully it does work for PMLF too.

Thanks. It worked now (not in the apparently corrupted savegame), but it worked fine in the others.
silly question here but im curious. Did it just fire, or did it actually create bolivia?
