I've read the last through the last 3 pages of the thread right now and I'd want to comment on some things (I'll not quote exactly but paraphrase what was said):
- Brandenburg not fighting Austria is worse than Russia not fighting OE.
It would be suicide by Brandenburg to attack Austria at this stage. Unless I could make an über alliance versus Austria and Spain I would quickly end up annexed if I pursued this policy.
- The current alliance of Brandenburg has not been useful for achieving its aims.
That is very true. When I risk to get into a three front war due to the whole of Europe allying against me, it certainly offsets any advantage I've had of support from Austria. The main problem has been that Brandenburg is severely overestimated as an economical and fighting entity. The little manpower I've got does not lend itself for a prolonged war, and my economy and tech investment has been damaged extensively from the latest 5 wars. The only human lead nation that I could theoretically defeat in 1 vs 1 is Sweden, and even then they are at advantage economically and with far more and better leaders than Brandenburg.

Yes chaingun those people just want to watch austria/brand fight for their amusment. If they really did want to be friends with you they would have stayed out of the war with poland.

Well BB needs to defeat Poland (or getting 2000 ducats). Their future depends in getting those 2 prussian provinces. None of those are easy aims to achieve (specially with Poland allied with Russia), but the current alliance do not make those objectives more attainable.
And that BB look for a new alliance do not mean that BB will not be a good friend of Austria (or that it can count with austrian support in case of serious defeat). But all Europe against the Habsburgs+BB only got as an result that BB is seriously damaged. What BB needs, really need now, is a very good diplomatic play.

I agree, it would be foolish of BB to stay in alliance with austria, the last two wars have proved that. If BB want's too reach there goal, a united Prussia they can't afford fighting world wars witch will happen if the current alliance remains.arcorelli said:

Well Poland is at least as necessary as, say, Brand, but a stable regular for England is more necessary...

I agree that we should have a human Poland, it's just stupid to have it split up between the surrounding powers now when so many wars already have been fought on Polish soil. That does not mean I give up my Prussian claims though.
Great game with me not involved in any war, it feels rather nice actually....and ive increased my trade and economy rather much...hope you'll write AAR on your wars....seeya :rofl:
