Just asking what others like to do.

In my game as Austria Prussia has been humbled (and I didn't use the F-12 function once! Go me!), the Southern German States have been annexed and Congress Poland has been wrestled away from the bear. I now own all of Poland's cores. So, should I release them as a satellite and use them as a buffer against Russia? Should I just annex them outright?

Oh, and I do plan on releasing Lithuania etc once I take the land from Russia. And in two more wars Prussia should be annexed all out.

Another quick question: Seeing as how I am THE master of Central Europe, what should my next goal be?

Just keep it. You don't need a Russian Buffer State. ;)

I say you should release Lithuania, it's to far away to be worth defending, Poland is quite wealthy so maybe you should annex them, in case you get trouble with the bb however, don't hesitate to release them

Debends what your future goals are. Personally I rather annex than have satellites, except when I consider that annexation would create annoying enclave which is hard to defend.

Annex what ever is on your doorstep. Satellite stuff you can feed on later or that is too big to swallow. As example, Russia can be satellited relatively easily and that keeps it from joining any alliance against you. You can any time change the relationship and nibble some more later.

You're right to keep your military high. Keeping BB low is only good for the early and middle game to do favorable tech deals. It's just a game kludge to keep the player from conquering the world in five minutes.

Once beyond the pale, ignore it because there's no path back to sainthood.

Or as Caligula said, let them hate as long as they fear. Or was that Dick Chaney?
