hey you guys,

just finished the grand campaign as sardinia piedmont. it took me like seven hours which I feel like is kind of short considering I've spent weeks on countries like Prussia!

I'm playing vanilla, so I never actually united italy, although I did try to do it by conquering my neighbors one by one. oddly enough, there was also no WWI... probably because I was having my own personal war with austria at the time.

anyone ever won as S-P on grand campaign? i'd love to hear how you did it. I was a little depressed when the thing at the end told me that I had lost the scenario!!

BTW, victoria is awesome! I keep trying to get my friends to play...

You can unite Italy via events in vanilla, it depends a bit on France though. Also, there are no events for ww1 (think of the alliances that would be needed...)

I usually unite Italy by force anyway, the event changing you from SP to Italy should happen automatically once you control all the major Italian cities.
And I'm usually 1st/2nd in the world industrially (this can be acheived by putting the socialists in power, tearing down glass factories and building steamer shipyards/aeroplane factories, etc.). Also it's fun to get involved in a colonial war with the French, take a load of their African colonies and then accept peace with them after they offer you Vietnam and Madagascar.
I actually managed to take the entire French empire in two colonial wars, both of which were started by them.

There is no WW1 in the grand campaign execpt in the 1914 scenario, and about your friends sadly Victoria cannot be played in mp atleast not well there is alot of bugs.

How may you play Vicky in mp with all the pops getting stuck etc?

I believe the solution is to have mutually agreed times where the game is halted for a few minutes and everyone splits their POPs. The MP players would probably be the best people to ask.
