Hi, this is my second attempt at a major work for CS and my first City Journal, my previous one was really big, and reached 700k (see links below) but I wasnt happy because there were too much high rise buildings which I dont like https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/post-your-city.842287/page-65#post-21392835
So in this city Im working on, I'll try to make a city with less high rise buildings outside the CBD, save for a some condominium complexes here and there
Short story - This is the capital of a fictional country, there is a nearby country connected to the city by a bridge (road and railway). The city is the economic center of the small country and the major port and airport hub.
The city is currently at 185k population and my max target is for 300k. After which I will spend more on detailing the city
Overall View of the City.
The peninsula at the left has largely residential development except for some tourism zones by the beach. There is a mini hill to the southern tip which I call the "Governor's Hill" where the Governor lives (that large open estate in the top) overlooking the Downtown accross the river
The CBD is at the mouth by the river, with the Central Railway and the Port next to it., I kept it small, bounded by parks at the ends and accessible by the expressway that runs from the other country (via bridge you see in the upper right) to the rest of the country(expressway runs to the left side)
To the right is the airport complex with the industrial area. The green mangrove forest patch you see after the cruise port will eventually be developed into a port and the cruise center will either be transferred to the west coast or the small island on the upper right corner which I have yet to develop
THe rest of the areas are low density residential areas with pockets of small commercial and office developments and small high density estates
Other views of the CBD, large parks at the CBD edge visible
Large park in the middle of the low density residential area
An affluent private estate with golf courses in the backyards
Thanks for reading. In the next posts Ill be sharing each district and developments while I grow the city. Feel free to ask questions and comments are of course welcome
