I was playing a game as the Mongols, trying to get most of the achievements you can get through conquest.

For Samrat Chakravartin I conquered my way through India and after taking all of the three Indian Empires I created those Empire titles, converted to Hindu, converted to feudal and....watched most of my Empire leave me not giving me the achievement.

The issue seems to be that I burned most of the holdings in India and if you convert to feudal your provinces with no holdings stay with your old Nomadic Horde and I have two sub-clans with provinces in India.

So it seems I have a few choices....

Go back to an earlier save and reconquer India without burning anything (though I've had some India provinces for a long time.

Or rebuild temples in all India provinces and wait the two years for them to complete THEN try for the achievement again.

And then absorb those two subclans.

Neither option sounds like much fun....

Protip:
1. Conquer and raze everything
2. Imprison and absorb every clan
3. Settle as tribal using Baghatur council in your capital on the same day.
4. ?????
5. Profit!

(That way you will owe every county with tribal holding. And as everyone knows tribal holdings convert to castle town and temple after adopting republic or feudalism.)

Hmm...that could work. Except one of the two clan leaders in India is in hiding so I can't arrest him....and 19.

Ok here is what I did:

Imprison all my sub clans.
Absorb all my subclans
Convert to Hinduism through my concubine,
Move my capital to somewhere in India.
Create the three Empires
Settle as tribal.

This gives me all the land in India as it converts the empty holdings to tribal.

What it does NOT let me do though is convert then to feudal - even if there is a feudal holding in the province and I switch that as the main holding it just says "Holder is of wrong holding type" - I had thought switching your capital to a feudal holding would convert you to feudal?

And of course the decision requires me to be feudal....

Hmm, so I have a fairly large number of feudal vassals scattered over the world and they won't approve any real law changes.

So I either have to give them independence or take their titles and burn their lands before I convert to tribal (so no rebels).

I presume if I am the only ruler in my whole realm that I can automatically change real laws at will - presumably this is "North Korea" mode?

Their is a long cool down period on realm law changes though right? Like 10 years?

Why are you having a large number of feudal vassals after settling? You should have been only settled characters in the world after settling. Or at least only one in your realm. Do not create titles before settling because your law change cooldown resets when you create a higher title.

How do you reload a save if you go for achievments?

I have the vassals because I didn't pillage everything originally. I wanted ships to invade islands and also I didn't want to deal with all the revolts when I had people to invade.

I archive saves if I am trying to go for different achievements. Then I can go back later to try for a different one.

Just invade Byzantium and raise ships before pillaging. With Nomad income you don't need to dismiss them until you conquer every island.
