I have a newbie question please.

Zeus 8 / Playing Salerno in 867, the ruler starts with two sons who are not flagged as his sons and are from a different House. I tried to get him his own proper children, daughter first and finally a son, but to no avail, the first son (non-recognised as a son) comes first in line of succession, then his brother (another non-son) and finally the third son (from the ruler's House and flagged as son).

Is there a way to have proper succession without murdering the two poor non-son chaps? As a side question, I am curious to know why they are not the duke's sons?

Otherwise, I am having a blast, being pressured there by the Calabrian Byzantines and increasingly Lombardia who acquired Melfi and most of Apulia and seems up to further mischief.

Could you confirm whether you're using SWMH or not? Normally, please provide the contents of the file version.txt in your mod/Historical Immersion Project/ folder so that we know to what HIP mod combinations/versions you're referring. Every combo is different.

SWMH Italy especially the 867 start had been a mess for years. Years.

Code:
#Siconulf
163091 = {
 name="Guaifer"
 dynasty=805
 religion="catholic"
 culture="langobardisch"
 830.1.1={
 birth="830.1.1"
 }
 880.1.1={
 death="880.1.1"
 }
}

Code:
#Dauferidi
145213 = {
 name="Daufer"
 dynasty=1022178
 religion="catholic"
 culture="langobardisch"
 780.1.1={

 840.1.1={

}
145214 = {
