I'm not sure if everyone's discovered this technique that I call SaboTech yet so if you haven't... Here it is! (Just trying to share it with those who haven't) It's actually quite obvious! Ha!

This can be used to gain provinces through war to build up your empire, defend you empire from enemies that have declared war on you (including rebels), ruin rival countries to put you ahead of them, and attain peace terms that benefit you immensely!

Steps to winning any war and sabotaging rival countries:

Step 1 - If you want more provinces, pause the game and declare war then save. If someone has declared war on you or civil war has begun, pause ASAP then save the game. If you just feel like ruining a nation that overshadows you by causing civil war and other mischief just pause and save. If you have conquered all the provinces of a country but they won't accept your outrageous peace terms, pause and save (make sure they don't have an envoy in your nation when you save. If they do, wait until they don't then save.)

Step 2 - Resign from your game and return to the PLAY map screen. Click on Saved Games and load the game you just saved for the Sabotage Technique. Select not your country but your target country. Begin.

Step 3 - You can begin sabotaging your enemy; their are many ways to do so. You can ruin their diplomatic relations by dissolving their alliances and declaring war on their closest friends. This puts them alone and helpless. You can disband all their armies and navies (allows you to conquer their provinces untested) and imprison and execute their best military leaders and statesmen. This can cause civil war for them as well. Also, you can empty their treasury by ordering the creation of units then canceling the order repeatedly. You can also use SaboTech to get lots of tribute. All of this can be done in a single day by just keeping your game paused. If you have won a war but the enemy refuses your terms, then use their country to submit the same terms. Of course your country will accept (it benefits them totally)!

Step 4 - Watch the world burn as your empire grows and conquers! You basically become invincible! Enjoy!

This is applicable to most Paradox games and while certainly effective completely eliminates any challenge in the game. Why not just edit the save and change ownership of those provinces!

I remember when I was ten years old and spammed blue cars in AOE2. After a few minutes of slaughter, I realised that my cheating had ruined the whole thing. IMO, the same goes for EUR. :)

I've also discovered a new technique that I'm calling GraviTech! It's even better than the SaboTech (which is pretty good I admit), but my technique is faster and easier and prevents the AI from ever attacking you, or refuse a diplo action, or do anything for that matter!

Basically, whenever the AI DoW on you, just PAUSE AND SAVE. Now open the cheat menu (Alt+21 for those who don't know it), and type "GraviTech ON" (without the quotes). Now fling your computer out of the window and let gravity do its work! Take that you puny AI!

Note that a common mistake in the application of this technique is that you must take care to disconnect your computer from any wire that may prevent the proper working of the gravity.

There's also another potential problem if you have one of those old computers with heavy chasis and huge monitors. I've not tested this myself but in theory it should work just the same -- just takes a bit more effort. If you have difficulties, well, time to upgrade your computer!

Ha. U so funny... You don't have to use it always. Just when you're in a really tight spot. Just whatever, if you don't want to use it then don't. Go make an anti-cheating thread.

I remember those exact blue cars! There was also some mech-robots that I'd spam, but I got bored after a single game.

Using sabotech, cheat codes, editing save files, even beneficial reloads is basically an admission of defeat: the game has beaten you. In modern parlance a beaten individual who's 'taken a whipping' is often described as a 'bitch' so I've decided to coin the phrase 'bitch boy' to describe a non-game player who is unable to beat the game through good play but instead has to resort to such cheating methods as sabotech. You can make the game your 'bitch' by beating it fairly or you can become its bitch boy by cheating. It's a free world after all (if you'll excuse a private joke from an EU3 thread) but don't expect respect, bitch boy!.

It's called 'tough love' (or calling a spade a spade). I'd prefer such people not to be bitch boys but instead earn respect from actually playing and beating the game without cheating rather than indulging in a peculiar brand of narcissistic egotism and then having the nerve to boast to the rest of us about their (lack of) cleverness. These forums partially exist to provide legitimate game support and guidance for those who need it, be they inexperienced newbs or those who are just not very good at strategy games. In psycho-babble terms, sabotech is a cry for help but don't worry, we're here for you.
PS I know CTCMSouthern started the thread as an ironic joke to poke fun at bitch boys (at least I hope so).

In a game that is so easily modded I don't agree with the black and white labelling of cheat or non cheat.
It's your game play it the way you enjoy most, personally I don't "cheat" but I have quit an unsuccessful game or switched to a more successful country. Does that make me a "bitch boy"?

Personally I don't like cheating, nevertheless I found this „sabotech” useful once or twice – to make my game more difficult or historical. E.g. I liked historical outcomes with EU2 , so e.g. while playing Poland I wanted Muscovy to unite Russia and become a real threat to me. If Muscovy got badly beaten by e.g. Golden Horde, I would help them: by DoW against Golden Horde or just by editing savegame, for example to give back to Russia recently lost provinces. I also remember using similar technique on my own country, in HOI2, when my Germany turned out to be too strong for the USSR to make a counteroffensive and the game became too easy. So “sabotech” could be useful sometimes, although not in EU3/Rome I think.
