Nice collection of songs for EU IV. They are kind of neutral too. I know the songs are about Sweden (well Art of War isn't) but those songs don't use names, so they are quite neutral anyway. I would have loved to have "Gott mit uns" in the list too but this song would have been to specific I guess.
I know it is a different team but I hope you will continue this trend in HOI4. Would love to get Ghost Division, Panzerkampf, Midway, White Death and such songs in that game too.
Is there anywhere we can hear a sample of the new tracks?
Id like to hear them before committing to a purchase
Type the song of the name in youtube (Johan posted the list) together with "Sabaton". All of these songs are on youtube.
- woot? In what alternative reality you live?its About the crimean war off 1854 when the russians where invading as per usual![]()
Great, thanks! It doesn't show on the DLC list, you have to search for it. Just type Sabaton and it's the only result you'll get

- it was Ottomans who DoWed Russia not other way around. And he is specifically mentioned a war of 1854. By your logic WW2 could be called just a WW1 continuation war. While the fighting in Crimea itself was a result of Britain and France invading that territory, the so called "Crimean War" was a larger conflict that began with a Russian invasion of Ottoman territories in Romania.
That's not all that uncommon though- it was Ottomans who DoWed Russia not other way around. And he is specifically mentioned a war of 1854. By your logic WW2 could be called just a WW1 continuation war.
Which makes me dread stellaris where the standard game track seems to be electronic...It's kind of funny that Sabaton fans are insulted as nationalists and childish people. Didn't know that listening to songs about historic events make you more or less childish or nationalistic. The counter argument of HeyHoCptJack why his mentioned song isn't in a song (I know it wasn't very serious) is still quite flawed. The Sabaton songs are in English -> this is way more community friendly than songs in other languages as the mentioned one. Just don't buy the DLC if you don't like them.. You really don't lose anything with the release of the music box if you don't buy it. Based on the likes/dislikes in the comments I can see that Sabaton was the right pick for Paradox since a lot of fans are hyped to get those songs in the playlist. I personally hate to listen to most kinds of electronic music for example but I couldn't care less if Paradox releases a DLC with such music... I simply wouldn't buy it.
No cossacks have a name that's eastern themed but the biggest additions are universal. Both of the Carolus Rexes also had to struggle with their own nobility (mostly Carl XI though) which fits the estates. This is funny? Oh, extra funny. Sorry, but your sense of humour needs some improvement, here I am making a valid point and this Finn is sitting behind his screen laughing. "Extra funny"
Sabatons only songs that's fitting for the timeframe of EU4 is about the Swedish Empire, Cossacks is an eastern themed DLC, not sure how it fits to be honest, and it's rather distinguishing from the ambient tracks Paradox has released beforehand.
There's actually not much on the rise of the swedish empire. Most of the songs on the disc are about it's fall. What does Sabaton have to do with EU4s timeframe except for the songs about the rise of the Swedish empire? What does metal have to do in a game that represents so many different cultures and nations? When we see a bit of balance and not a completely western take on cosmetics I'll be satisfied.
Me, but I simply won't buy it.I wouldn't complain! Who doesn't love a bit of ABBA!
Here are some valid points. Me I'll likely buy it and turn it of after a few hours. After all the gritty lyrics of sabaton show a side of war not well represented by eu4. That said I'd like more of that aspect.I'm not a fan of the idea of music with vocals in the OST tbh and as a mostly ROTW player I think we need more world music, but eh, Sabaton is fine and I'd guess I'd buy the DLC if it ever goes on sale.
So you'd be happy if the DLC had music from Tengerr Cavalry instead? And anyhow, what does the Cossacks DLC even has to do with Cossacks?![]()
Yes most of the songs are better in swedish. Also Iäd have gone with swedish so most people wouldn't find it as distracting (lyrics are only distracting as long as you understand the language).I'm guessing by the names that they're the English versions? Pity, even as a Brit, I think the Carolus Rex album sounds better in Swedish.
Have you listened to them? I reccomend lifetime at war, by far the best song on the list.- LoL together with absence of Poltava i see some pattern here...![]()
You forgot Talvisota.I know it is a different team but I hope you will continue this trend in HOI4. Would love to get Ghost Division, Panzerkampf, Midway, White Death and such songs in that game too.
Well it was your empire too, the hakkapeliitta who made the lion of the north undefeatable were finnish. As a Finn I'm constitutionally required to not root for Sweden but Carolus Rex made me want to start a game with Sweden and do some serious conquering.
Awwww, no Ruina Imperii? That's my favorite Sabaton song!Yes, it contains..
Art of War
The Caroleans Prayer
Carolus Rex
Lion from the North
A Lifetime of War
