So I heard it confirmed that we'll be getting a Sabaton music pack with the release of Cossacks. Can we get any details on that? As a huge Sabaton fan, I really want to know!

I haven't heard such, but if they got the liscensing down that'd pretty cool. Sort of fit in with the whole Guns Drums and Steel Music Packs I guess.

Of all the artists who would be willing to do this sort of thing, why Sabaton? The vocalist's image alone is enough to put me off for good.

As a Finn I'm constitutionally required to not root for Sweden but Carolus Rex made me want to start a game with Sweden and do some serious conquering.

I love Metal and i think it's fun to have a dlc about it, but i'm not gonna buy it because it's the most boring thing to hear on several hours session, i already know this. Bought Guns Drums and Steel 1 and 2, had ton of fun but i had to uncheck it because: 1 it replaces the awesome normal tracks 2 as i said it bores after a bit of time. It's ok to have some fun tracks into the game that break the same old tune but this is the third dlc about a genre that is kinda the opposite of the theme of the game. I know music is something very hard to debate since it's just about taste but please in future consider introducing more classical music...i've tons of metal discographies which are ready to roll if i feel like i need to stackwipe half planet, and since music dlcs usually add 3 new tracks to the game, it's better if those add even more classical tracks instead of making grow the "special" list at a point of which this game becomes metallus universalis IV.
I don't want to seem harsh, i'm happy that paradox had Sabaton do some music for them (it is awesome indeed) but had to say this too. I'll buy it in future and ofc i'll have my 5 minutes of joy, but EU classical music has always been one of its perks for me, and one of the reasons i come back to EU2 and FtG, since they have an awesome soundtrack.

He's right though, since this expansion doesn't have anything to do with WW2 or some 14 year olds wet world conquering dream, why not add a music pack that's horde themed? Why would you go and add a METAL band like Sabaton? It's obviously for the Steam children.

The song that started on the stream was from "Carolus Rex", a concept-album entirely about the swedish empire of the 17th and 18th century and the thirty years war. Furthermore, it could be argued that it doesn't entirely glorify war, considering the song "A Lifetime of War" as an example. But enough of that, why does a music-DLC get you so riled up?

He is right you say? He said that Sabaton is a crappy band, he didn't say why, he didn't say anything about EU4 or the lyrics...You may agree with opinions, but you didn't just agree, you stated that his opinion is a fact.

What I'm saying is that Sabaton is too much of a stance taking, it's not "neutral" music like some of the other tracks in the playlist, granted it's a DLC so you don't have to buy it if you don't like it, but still just the principle of adding it is taking a stance. EU4 represents various countries and nation histories, when you add Sabaton on top of that it's like you are biased, not every player of EU4 likes metal, and yet it seems to be the most released music DLCs. Sabaton is just a ridiculous band that realised they could make money by pushing an agenda to rebellious just-entered-puberty 14 year olds with nationalistic views.

Paradox is Swedish. Sabaton is Swedish. Sabaton has made a concept album about the rise and fall of the Swedish empire. How's having their music in the game "taking a stance"?

Then please tell me, how does Sabaton have any ties to the eastern themed Cossacks expansion? Also, Ultima Thule is also Swedish band singing about nationalistic views, that doesn't necessarily justify putting them in this game just because both are Swedish.
