Btw are you using some mod, because I could swear that I can't find those nations on the GC. Or is this a later campaign?

MyMap certainly seems to give the player more options during the early game. And you have certainly been busy - far more than most African games on the vanilla map. I don't guess we'll be seeing much thumb twiddling. ;)

Ok guys, you havn't listened. He plays AGCEEP-MyMap, you won't find Rwanda neither in Vanilla nor in ordenary AGCEEP because then the area isn't even on the map, and he started in 1419. Hope that made it clearer for you.

Coming on top in the local squabbles. There looks to be a tasty CoT on the coast there.

Farquharson - Thanks, glad to have you along as always. I think Africa looks very good in MyMap.

Kelvin - I normally do too. But for some reason I just wanted to give this one a go.

zebomba - No events at all, not even a file. In some ways thats a good thing since it allows better planning. Glad to hear you are reading my Golden Horde AAR :)

Snake IV - Mombasa are in an alliance with Kilwa though whose army of 11K makes them the powerhouse of the region. My troops have appalling morale to thanks to DP. I'm not sure how to proceed in that area. Thanks for the recommendation in the other thread.

Halogen - No problem and thanks.

Jacko the Panda, The-Great-Dane - It's MyMap AGCEEP theres a link to where you can download it in my first set of replies under the reply to Halogen.

coz1 - Its getting quieter, the early expansion was fuelled by the money I took from my now vassals. After that it gets a lot poorer.

Vincent Julien - Cheers

EvilSanta - I was quite pleased with it, got over 18 BB for it. Thankfully Sesanti has five green bars under diplo rating (whatever value that is I can't recall) so its going down rather quick.

Grundius - I hope too, kicking the Muslims out of Africa is a long term goal. Kilwa are a big problem though, their COT makes them quite rich and they have big armies.

stnylan - Its not bad, trouble is that Kilwa has three or four islands off the coast that will make them very hard to annex.

Talkingdonkey - Thanks, I hope I can show you lots of it.

Nobegow - I hadn't expected to see so many, almost the whole continent has a nation on it, very few uncolonised provinces.

Just a few notes:
I'm playing Very Hard/Furious settings
These are the impressive stats of Sesanti who rules the whole game, probably Rwanda's only strength. All the pagan nations of this part of Africa have comparable stats.

Chapter Three - Peaceful Intentions
header.jpg
Sesanti was happy with the progress he had made towards fulfilling his gods wishes. But he was mindful always that Rwanda was by no means secure in it's position. Many enemies surrounded. If he grew at their expense too quickly now he would likely face a coalition of all against him. To bide his time would a wise move.

Further south Momomotapa had bided it's time long enough and declared war upon their neighbour Chikanga. The war was a quick one and soon Momomotapa incorporated all of Chikanga into it's lands. Sesanti thought this move was wise on the part of Momomotapa but it also worried him when he thought of Orisha's initial thoughts that Momomotapa would win this. Would they yet prove true?
6momomotapa.png
Momomotapa's expansion, the three suthern provinces were formerly Chikanga

Knowing that a war was unlikely for now Sesanti shifted to more peaceful expansion, incorporating Nkore into Rwanda. He dispatched much money to the kingdom. Using it he funded an underground movement of Kongolese dedicated to overthrowing the Swahili kingdom, known as the Golden Roosters (Roosters being an animal admired in the region for their fierce fighting spirit). He continued the funding for several years and promised support to the Golden Roosters.

By 1437 the Golden Roosters had occupied key parts of the Nkore government . The time was right to move. On the night of August 23rd they moved. The coup was swift and almost bloodless. Nkore's king was exiled and the Golden Rooster's gladly united themselves with Rwanda.

Rwanda expands to take two more valuable provinces, Luba and Nkore
8-rwandasworld.png

Rwanda's known world

Perhaps seeing Rwanda's success with the technique Edegbe of Ndongo succeeded in vassalising the state of Kongo. Sesanti wondered if they would become the power in the west.

In 1443 Rwanda was once again plunged into war.

That's kinda weird with all those pagan African states ruled by superkings. Is Buganda also ruled by one superking for the whole game?

That MyMap really opens up the continent. I've never really looked at it before.

And back to war after such peaceful intentions. Well, perhaps you had better get used to it with the Europeans on the way.

anonymous4401 - Bunyoro? They're ruled by a king with the same stats and lifetime as Sesanti.

Lofman - Cool, hope you will enjoy this then, I enjoy your AARs.

Farquharson - I forgotten aboutt he Portuguese and their annoying annex Kongo events in AGCEEP, that will be a pain.

Snake IV - Sure thing I'll get one up soon.

coz1 - I like the way the map looks now. I'm sure once the Portuguese arrive its going to be rare to get peace.

The cool thing is with them all being Pagan... massive mega-annexations! I would not be surprised if soon only two or three empires remain...all with quite some BB....
