First of all, in my very first post, I'd like to pay a homage to the VIP team. You are the salt of the earth.

As XIXth century is a century of waste empires trying to assimilate their cultural minorities inside their borders, having considered that Victoria's assimilation model in Europe can hardly reflect this situation, I have an idea. What do you think about adding sequences dealing with assimilation to the countries like Russia and Prussia/Germany? That's how I see it: the first event would ask a question like "Should we try to assimilate [nation]" and chosing "yes" would open a sequence with events like "A are becoming good B"- 5% of clerks in state X becomes national culture. There could be also another set of sequences, which would fire if certain criteria would be met- "The rise of national consciousnes among A in state/province Y with the majority of non-national culture". There are quite similar events in AGCEEP which turn Ruthenians into Ukrainians, when their lands become a part of Russia. A lot of work, I believe, but the the results may be interesting.

It's ironic that the assimilation table for upper classes are the lowest, when history (at least in Poland-Lithuania and Russia) showed that aristocratic minorities are easily assimilated...
You had Orthodox and Ukrainian-speaking Aristocrats in the Ukraine become Polish overnight in Pol-Lit.

Russia it's simple to assimilate minorities: you simply migrate them into the provinces east of the Ural, where you'll get the 10,000 assimilation cap on underclass Orthodox POPs.

Germany it's a little harder, Germany is unlikely to conquer all of Russia, therefore she can use conquered territories in Latin America to assimilate populations.

I've played games as Germany where I assimilated all the Poles as Germans in Haiti and migrated them back to zee Fatherland to work in factories

IIRC there are some Germanification events in vanilla regarding the Danish lands. I can't remember much about these events, but perhaps they could be adapted into converting a certain amount of people to Danish/German in Schleswig-Holstein, dependent on who owns it (and other triggers) of course.

Personally I wouldn't want to see such assimilation events being generic, but rather specific, where historical. Making it too easy to assimilate minorities might take away some historical feel.

i know in VIP canada has some assimilation events.

also depends on your government as well. Can't expect these sort of events from Residence government vs. a Full Citizenship one.
