Russian troops, or Eastern troops as a whole, a bit stronger than they should be?

I don't know guys, but it's 1670 or so, and Russia came to my aid, as I decided its for the best to dismantle a fully formed HRE (I am Savoy). Their 200k troops absolutely annihilated the HRE army. With heavy losses, but they did it.

As for Eastern vs Ottoman tech, I'd say its around equal, until mass infantry. Both can field ridiculous amounts of units, so that's... yeah.

It is just hilarious to read this wannabe I-know-history-threads so full of misconceptions on all sides. Most striking thing? Seems everybody thinks that actual - yes ACTUAL - history was just like EU IV... that actual soldiers in real life were just like computer versions with exact stats... hahaha the humour. Seriously, go read Fernand Braudel and come back in a few weeks. Then we'll talk.

Russians have a neat bonus for manpower and they can combine this with quantity for the renowned bearstacks of around 30, which come in bundles of 5 or 6 and gets replenished nonstop without running out of fuel. That's ok, that's what Russians did throughout the history, right?

They were mostly some drunk peasants with hunting rifles and would get devastated even with 2 times the numbers in an offensive war against Ottomans until late 1700s.
That's racism and I gonna report this.

History is written by the winners, right? ;)

However, try to play some games with countries far from eastern Europe. Watch the AI countries play it out. See what happens by 1600 with Muscovy->Russia. Every single game, Russia have unopposed dominance. They colonise Siberia way before they did historically, and have little opposition from western Europe. They are the only country that is immune to disintegration without player intervention.

This is not a history simulator, but a very fun game. Currently Russia is too powerful on its own, wich removes some fun, and a fix is to slow it down. AI Russia gets too big too fast. The social and governmental factors that restricted development is non-existent in the current game, and for some reason Siberia is like a juicy piñata of riches instead of a cold challenging territory to conquer.
