Russia - Strange happenings in Asia

I am playing 1.06 as SU. I have delt with the germans and annexed germany in 1945. So in the west it is me and the allies with a border just in the old france. I Think I have strasbourg and Colmar but the rest is US or UK.

Italy are still hanging on but only just.

I turned my attentions east after japan allied with Germany when germany were surely doomed (after i took berlin) So I attacked japan and annexed them as well. So I basically own all of china and japan. I am allied with com china (but they only have 3 provinces) and nat china is with the allies.

The problem is: I am not allied with the allies but i am certainly not at war with them! but nat china is marching through asia taking all my annexed provinces! WTF? I can even put troops on teh border but they just march right through them as if they are not there!?!?!

I tried DOW on allies and then the troops in the same province started fighting each other?

Anyone else experienced this?

You weren't at war so China started reclaiming its lost territories. France will do the same.

Off course you're not alled with the UK and US. You have your own alliance the comintern.

Perhaps you have granted militairy control to Nat. China?

Yup. For some odd reason, the Allies can send troops into your territory and then gain control of it. If the territory in question belongs to one of the Allied nations.

This is very annoying, and can often create some logistical problems in the war against Germany in Europe.

When playing the Soviet Union, I always end up DoW'ing the allies because of this.

Oh so this is working as designed??? Hmm it does seem a bit strange. In real life I guess there may be some kind of treaty that might force me to give up territory like this but if they are just marching in and taking it then its just wrong!

Very annoying..

Maybe this can change for HOI2?

Youve kinda invited them in to take the territory, revoke there acess, I used that to regain my Irish Serbia and Croatia. You can take the allies, go on DoW em

This issue can usually be solved with military acces requests which will ensure that you get supplies to your troops even though they are cut of.

Basically any provence that they have a claim on that you do not, they will be able to take from you

The Chinese or the Dutch or ... own the provinces. The SU controls them.

So unless you are at war with them or their alliance, they own the provinces and can get control of them by either themselves or their allies walking back into the provinces.

Own vs control. At war or not at war with them and their allies. Those are the two issues that you have to deal with.

My rule of thumb as the SU is to DoW the Allies as soon as they start to walk back into their OWNED provinces. Your forces can be cut off by these actions so you better pay attention to this and do something about this. Either withdraw or DoW.
