The results of three handsoff 1419 GC:

May 1807 Land: 27 Naval: 16
Nov 1819 Land: 28 Naval: 12
Dec 1688 Land: 18 Naval: 11

Even with the shift to Latin tech in event 3423, Russia does not gain much ground in the tech-race. In the first two, most of the Western latin powers were in the 50s in land and naval.

Now, there is an argument for Russia being tech-backward in the 18th c., but it does seem to me that one might easily argue the reverse - particularly in the field of artillery development, the Russians under Shuvalov were leading the pack.

I am about to test a modificiation to event 3423, adding a zero to each tech increase, so that option A gives Rus

land value = 15000
naval value = 10000

option B, 20000 land and option c 20000.

Anyone tried anything similar?

Interesting tests Count Six. Ögedei Khan wrote a couple of days ago that Russia was too easy for a human in SP, but that is true for all major I guess.
In EEP 1.4.2 Ottomans are back in orthodox tech group, that might give some neighbour bonus, but certainly not enough. Adding more tech in events or make some tsars more interested in military tech advancements (higher MIL values) perhaps? In Peter Ebbesens scenarios Russia (and Poland I think) get a free weapon manufactory from start. Is that a good idea?
