Lunar, what about Russia waging war against Baltic states instead of Ukraine? I just guess it's MUCH more probable... Anyway, if a war with Ukraine occurs you should have an event so that Ukraine lost Crimea and a pair of provinces populated by Russians. You could compensate their lost of might with a resource dump from the west however...
the problem with the batlic is that they are part of NATO, and Russia knows that a war with NATO is not a good start.
Well, it is in our plans to have Russia wage war against Ukraine, which erupts into a war with Europe. We'll have to figure out if Russia takes out the Baltic states and Finland while Simultaneously at war with the likes of Poland, Germany, and France.
In the "Russian victory over Europe"-event, Russia gets their old territories in Europe back as all organized defence in Europe is shattered. Including the Baltic.
(Which by the way will get events for joining the European major powers in the war against Russia)

I think that's the storyline we're following. Russia gets their old territories in Europe back if they win the war with CTF. Perhaps we should have them waging war on the Caucasian states when they are occupying the European millitary? I think the old territories in Asia (most of the "stans") will bow before Russia when the Russians demonstrate their power....

I read an article on that. Georgian president tells Georgians to prepare for war with Russia in the near future. Perhaps we will implement this war after alpha.
Doesn't the USA have close relations with Georgia? I remember during the war against the Taliban we had some troops stationed there.
Right, Georgia is a kind of States' client state... Lunar, I have just realized that Russia has claims on every former republic of USSR, like Georgia has Osetija, Abkhazija and Adzharija that wish to be part of Russia (Osetija) or independent (two last), Ukraine has Crimea that is populated by Russians and was ceded from Russia in Soviet times, there also is a self-proclaimed pro-Russian communist republic Transnistria in Moldova and so on... You might use them all in your mod, I guess?

I mean how do you imagine it? commies vs cappies? commies vs fascists? Since nationalism and communism in Russia are steadily becoming almost the same thing (which is strange, but anyway :wacko: ), left-right battle is not likely to occure. And since cappies haven't got a single seat in the parliament in the previous elections, war with cappies is also not likely to be waged.
Claiming Belorus is ok, since Russia and Belorus already have already agreed on unification in near future, but Kazachstan should be a problem i guess. As far as I know U.S. has its troops in the area, and is not going to let Kazachstan disappear from the map that easily. Georgia, since in HoI it is represented with just 2 provinces, how would you imagine Russia taking Osetija / Abkhazija / Adzharija?
Making Russia take any more territory is a suicide as it will lead to immidiate war with NATO.
I mean, when you do those war declaration triggers, don't just increase warentry value for U.S., better have NATO declaring war right away.
So, instead of territory taking triggers, i suggest you make some of the army reformation, because with the kind of army Russia has today, it would not be able to defeat even Saudi Arabia

Although the Russian army might be a little outdated and poorly organized, Russia still sits on some tens of thousands of nuclear, chemcial and biological warheads which might be used in the event of a war with NATO. Also, the US is not that happy with small states in the outskirts of the former Soviet Union, because it makes it hard to track the nukes.
I think NATO would try to think twice before declaring a full-scale war on Russia, as it would soon become "dirty". If the annexations of Kazakhstan and Belarus went without shots fired, the world community would favour with Russia if NATO pressed for armed retaliation.
The Civil war is not said to be a war of ideology. It triggers because Putin does too much stuff wrong and people see through him, but he refuses to abandon his powerful position. As the country is divided, it will soon turn into a battle between left-right wing fanatics and trigger a civil war.
After the civil war, Russia is weak and NATO don't want it to collapse even more. So they are left in peace.

They plan to modernize the army in a few years and then all the bad orginsation will be gone and left a high tech and well equipted army they also plan to ditch consciption in favor for a profsionel army.
