mmmm, yes. My AAR forgot to mention the very helpful contributions of Sibir in putting down the revolts that broke out during the Time of Troubles. Whoever takes over Austria should keep that in mind. You know, only take two provinces from them, not three in the next war. :p

Venice AAR

The Venetian Articles:

These years started in the midst of all-out war between Austria and Venice, the armies of Venice had however already defeated Austria and thus in order to remain modest and to ensure a quick end to the war (so that no more resources would be spent on it) Venice offered a very reasonable peace treaty, which consisted of Krain to Venice. Austria soon agreed to this and the two great nations were at peace. France and Russia however were a bit more greedy and, to Venice's benefit no doubt, weakened Austria so that she can not attack us for many a year.

After this war all of Venice's efforts were turned back to the economy and plans were being made for the mighty economic "boost" which Venice had been preparing for. Venice had managed to accumulate 20k ducats in more ways than one and this money was put into a massive building programme. In all 16 manufactories were built over the course of a couple of years. This was a nice boost to our income and to our technological advances. Trade continued, however not as well as one could of hoped for, and the greedy dictator in Castille was persistent in their trading in our most valued of COT's, Genoa and Venice, and consistently stole our monopolies there etc. This reduced our income however this drop was equated by the rise in manufactories. As there is no new reachable colonisable land, no new colonies or the like had been created and so it seems that Venice has few places to expand towards...

On the foreign policy front, Venice hopes for a continuation of friendship with France and also hopes that now Austria has learnt its lesson and will not act so aggressively versus poor Venice. And just in case someone does decide to acquire some Venetian lands I would like to remind them that there is no Venetian land, but Omanese land:). As the years go by the Doge has also realised that he must get closer to Hellas in order to still stand a chance of winning. Thus expansion in the Balkans seems the only route, however some mediterrenean bases and then to build a fleet is also a viable option...only time will tell which option Venice shall choose....

For years had Epimetheus dreamed of this moment, goal of uniting the entire coast of East Africa was only few provinces away, Omanese armies had been laying siege to Ethiopian provinces for months, they resisted well but ultimately they fell to the superior forces. Ethiopia soon gave in to treaty which cutted it from the seas, it is now completely surrounded by Omanese lands and its existence is solely dependent on the mercy of Epimetheus.

Thanks to the new conquests, recruits from Africa started to pour in to Omanese army, making our land army one of the most deadliest and largest on earth. After the final war, the Provincial Divisions were rebuilt and a extensive force was stationed to Sicily to keep things under control in Italy. Luckily the italians have seen that Omanese have only brought wealth, not slavery and misery as they first thought, now the italians have proved to be loyal vassals and for that they WILL be supported in all circumstances.

Navy was reorganized, as the galley navy from Indian Ocean was sent to Mediterranean Sea, many sunk during the trip, but luckily a majority made it there. Omanese shipbuilding industry in Mediterranea have made the Omanese fleet the most strongest there, with the Venetian fleet, no enemy ship or coastal province is safe in Mediterranea.

Popularity for trading grew alot in Oman, which caused an enormous growth in trading income, this has made Oman the second richest nation in the world, outmatched only by the vast Mughal Empire ruled by Hyperion. Although Oman is now trading extensively nearly everywhere, Omanese merchants have been ordered not to compete foreign monopolies, at least not on purpose.

Now that primary expansion plan has been accomplished it is time to calm down for a while and carve up plans concerning the top-secret secondary plan of expansion. Also the industrialization plans must be finished in Turkey and Java, and similar plans must be started in the newly gained Egypt and rest of East Africa and not to forget the distant islands. Its also a possibility that Omanese-Venetian influence is expanded by force to somewhere. Omanese fleet and army however is at the moment strong enough to take on almost any foe, may it be close one, or a distant one.

deflation thnx

Explorations and conversions

The last 20 years(1675-1695), Mughals decided to sent explorers into europe. The first country had been Austria, heir of the Great Hannover Empire. We started too the exploration of the Venice Kingdom and we discovered 2 new imporant CoT's (Veneto and Liguria).
In France, we discovered the Cot of Gascogne, and now we have a way for the future exploration of Spain and the Cot's of Catalonia and Tago.

In a nearly future we have in mind start the exploration of Spain, Russia and maybe America :p.

Possibly we'll send again an exploration into Siberia, but the last expedition composed of 2000 mens, had been anhilated at half way.

About conversions, we spent the 80% of our income during the last 50 years in it. The results are 95 % of India now is Sunnite, when at the begining was only a 15 or 20%.
The same happened in Persia, when before were 50 % sunnite, now neraly 90%.
Now our next step in conversions will be indochina, where only a 5% or 10% are sunnite  .
I hope, at 1730 or 40 the major of my lands will be sunnite(95%-100).

About conquests, the last sesion, we annexed Dai Viet peacefully. Now we have 127 provinces.
And about our next military actions, i have in mind starts a war versus Mataram. And nearly 1710 - 15 his annextion.
Also, probably we'll annex Tibet, that for diplomacy.

EDIT : Reduction of badboy again.

Could Castile have some edits? as Venice dowed me 3 (!!) times last sessions and looted several provinces, plus killed some troops?

Why should you get edits for that? When an AI nation is so foolish as to DOW you then you are to be congratulated because then you can loot their provinces.

Well, unless the GM forces you to make WP with them before you have the time to cover their territory.

They dowed while i was at war twice i think... and they out-teched me in the first war... plus their navy was much better :(

Ouch, that was not so good. Now I understand your frustration. In such cases the GM could edit it in "eternal peaace" for the rest of the session. I am not entirely sure how to to that. Is there a "truce expiring date" in the save file?

Latest years have been years of prosper and peace. After cutting off Ethiopia from the rest of the world, Epimetheus had achieved his primary expansion plan. Now Oman can rest and gather its strength for the challenges in the future. For the past decades, Omans wealth had been growing greatly, thanks to increased efforts in trade. Also industrialization plans at Java and Turkey were finished. Our shipbuilding industry is now the largest at Mediterranea and several fortifications have been built to key locations.

Provincial Divisions and Omanese fleet are now at the height of their might, and they will grow to be even stronger as Epimetheus ordered increased research efforts on new military equipment.

On diplomatic area, Oman watched as his muslim brother of Castile fell to the Frenchies. Their lack of fighting spirit was very suspicious though. Soon enough Castile shocked the world by attacking the peacefull Morocco, as if that was not enough, France joined on the side of his vassal against Morocco. Immediately Epimetheus with other rulers sent messages saying that if France does not peace Morocco, Oman would have to consider supporting our fellow African brother. France peaced out, but the harm was done, Morocco gave in to Castilian demands. This crisis however brought us closer to Sibir, who seems to be the next one on Castilian-French targets.

Our italian vassal has been growing well, several manufactories rose to Italy and America and his fleet and army are becoming considerable force.
