Brilliant expansion, and by the by, I think I might just pinch your Cecil Rhodes in politics bit for my AAR :D

PS: As you enter the Twentieth Century how powerful is Borealia, does have a chance of eclipsing the Motherland?

A most alarming prospect! If that is the case then I must question the wisdom of giving them yet more land and population, how on earth are you going to keep them in their place if they get too powerful?

Dr. Gonzo:
Be my guest, I always thought it would be brilliant to have seen Rhodes as PM.

El Pip:
Do keep in mind that while it occupies the same area, the Dominion of Borealia isn't the same thing as the United States. The population density is a lot lower and they merely have the blessing of holding a vast swath of land. One day, perhaps, things could get complicated, but right now I'm sure they're content with being subjects of the Empire.

GermanPeon:
Truth be told, gameplay wise, the French, Germans, and Russians could still give me a run for my money. I only build armies that I need while they simply build up and build up. Will I pick a fight with them in future? That remains to be seen. So in the end, I do have to be careful least my shores get invaded quite suddenly and my population suddenly begins to revolt because they've never seen that sort of thing before.

Alright everyone, I'm making it official, I'm terminating this AAR.

While I did technically accomplish my objective, there is simply nothing left to really keep me going the last few decades from 1895 to the end.

So, with what I did here, I'm left to ask, what did I do right and what did I do wrong? What would you like to see should I do another AAR? Another Victoria AAR, or maybe one from HOI2:A or EU3? It is now your turn to provide overall feedback so do let me know.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did nothing wrong, this AAR was awesome from the start!

You must continue it, what about World War One?!

If need me to point out problems, all I can say is to center titles and images, maybe add some mood music, image captions, etc...

Other than that, perfect!

World War One?! Unless someone writes some events that transform whole Dominions into enemies or create rebellions in say, a hundred provinces, the undiluted might of the British Empire alone would crush Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottomans, and the Italians (if the latter were to honor their treaty obligations). Even if the whole of the world suddenly declared war upon Britain, Britian would prevail.

Serious modding would have to take place to make it an interesting conflict.

As it is, this is Pax Brittania.

Ok, this is my 5cents.
Feedback is very important. Readers are less likely to co-operate a read everything if they are not being heard or, if they have asked a question which many do, answered so they can understand things better. Of course, ones that say 'Great Update' and the like don't and can't really be answered to (i still say thanks though), but a full comment should be answered. Feedback was very poor throughout this until the very end.

Another little thing that bugged me was the word 'simulation' at the start of every screenshot. I know that this really is a little thing, but those kind of things do annoy me so you don't really need to listen to this. That word it just... it isn't nessercary.

You did very well with the gamepaly apart from one point. The modding you did to this to make you continue to own America just made you too powerful. But even if you didn't have this, the UK is still one of the most powerful nations out there. Dr. Gonzo's AAR is a lot more politically driven, but he has kept away from just conquering everything. He could if he wanted i'm sure, but he didn't. You must just make the fine line between what is becoming a world conquest where nobody can stop you (your invasion of Germany for example) and a game which is farily balanced and where you give a role-playing reason why or why not you invaded this place: crucial in History-Book. Overall you did this ok, but some points were a little over the top.

As for what asd said, he has got his AAR nearing on perfect in those respect. Centering pictures and titles makes updates look much neater and in-line. As for mood music, i don't use it in either of my AARs, but if someone could prove the benefits of it i would duly use it. However, if you think it is fitting, then fire away. Just make sure you chose the right music.

Now i am not usually very critical openly about anything. However, since you asked for it, i was brutally honest.
Hope this helps
Rob

Since everyone has brought this up so many times, I certainly plan on centering images next time. Not sure about mood music, I can try, but unlike images I don't have anywhere to easily drop music at, short of MegaUpload or such, and hot-linking can be problematic.

World War One has sort of been the elephant in the room as far as late game VIP goes. They are working on it now but a working release could be some time away.

As far as that is concerned, had I covered it, it would have been pure plot with very little of the gameplay aspect. I have the story for it down, but it would indeed have taken a fair deal of modding to accomplish.

Looking back on it, I think I agree with you on that now. I guess it was just be going a tad overboard on the whole history book part. I'll know not to do it next time.

So, knowing I can only get better next time, what would you like to see me do as far as an AAR goes. I was thinking of either another history book or something more character driven. I'm sort of an amateur writer, so characters aren't difficult for me.

The only question I ask of you, is what nation would you like to see me tackle?

I'd like to see a Swedish history-book AAR, as you try to unite Scandinavia...

I might certainly give that a try. From a purely gameplay point of view, the people over at VIP:R just redid a bunch of the events and triggers needed to create Scandinavia. They say it should be slightly easier for a human player to form it but since I've never actually tried it, who can say? I'll have to read up on my Scandinavian history.

The AAR had it's faults, which have been discussed; but it was also a fairly good AAR. For a debut, I'd say it was pretty damn good. I did enjoy reading it throughout and I will certainly read and comment any further AARs that you make.

Thank you very much for your comment and I hope I meet your expectations on any future AARs I write.
