Rulers Religion Broken?

As England, I converted to Protestant but my monarch is Catholic. I tried using the decision to convert them to Protestant but they immediately converted back to Catholic. I waited and eventually it said my heir was Protestant but then when they took the throne they converted to Catholic. I tried the decision to convert them again and again they converted back to Catholic. Anyone encounter this problem?

I wonder, is it because I have Catholic Spain as a junior partner in a personal union? Is Spain converting my ruler back to Catholic?

That sounds like a bug, but also A+ for historical accuracy.

I have the exact same problem, but with Byzantium. My rulers are Protestant, but I want them to be Orthodox, like my people. Also all kinds of annoying events spawn because of the mismatch. However whenever I take the decision 'ruler should be Orthodox' or whatever it is called to convert ruler and heir to Orthodox, they switch back to Protestant and I'm not sure why. I have a PU over a small Protestant nation in Italy, could that be it? Or is this just a bug that we have to wait until they patch?
