I have concerns regarding this DLC.

Namely, when I create a modified ruler, the settings for the background & clothing are NOT coming across once I start the game.

It appears the DNA (looks) is coming across fine. The Properties part (background, clothing) is not coming across properly.

This happens regardless of I'm playing a vanilla or mod game. Is there any workaround to fix this?

Very irritating when something you pay for doesn't work properly.

It is actually working properly, it's more of a overview on how your character will look in different aspects. Your clothes and your background will be subject to change due to different situations in the game, such as if you're in your court or if you're on the battlefield.

Sorry, I don't agree with this statement. If you can make changes under the Ruler Designer, those changes should reflect in the game once you start it. If I play as a King, the crown & clothing I picked in the Ruler Designer should show that way in the game. As it stands now, it doesn't come across correctly. This can easily be verified by creating a new ruler yourself.

I see no purpose of paying & having this DLC if we can't properly give our rulers the look we want them to have. Very misleading.

To be honest it's a pretty useless tool at present, particularly as it changes your age depending on which traits you select. It's definitely not what people wanted. Hopefully it will get something of a revamp later on.
