What are your ideas for improving/fleshing out the royal marriage and personal union mechanics? I feel there should be more interactivity with the royal marriage system other than just having a marriage. Being able to bring your two nations closer, maybe something like one nation's culture influencing the other, or perhaps espionage options to try and ensure your royal marriage will lead to a union/'fabricate claim on their throne' option if certain criteria are met.

If you want to go for a strategy that relies on forming personal unions it's quite annoying unless you play a nation that has events like the Iberian Wedding. I would like some generic events that could let you come closer to another nation you have a marriage with, and more specific events like Iberian Wedding. For example, England could have an event or mission like 'rough wooing' that pushes them towards forcing union with Scotland, or some events based on the reformation like Scotland choosing between being closer to France and Catholic or moving closer to England and Protestant (both risking becoming a junior partner). Or if War of the Roses fires then maybe Scotland could get a casus beli on England to form a union (Stuarts eventually inherited as they have claims tracing back through both House of Lancaster and York). I'm not just saying I want British events (although I do), these are just the examples most prominent in my mind from my most recent playthrough.

Also, I don't understand why you have to be the same 'dynasty' in order to claim a throne? I know it's to keep you from just claiming throne on everyone you have a royal marriage with but surely they can do something that involves more strategy than just 'have the same surname' and hope the numbers are in your favour.

P.S. I'm not a total newbie it's just my old account seems to have been deleted.

I think it would be helpful to see the line of succession, personally. If I want to dump my heir, I'd like to know if that means I'm likely to get a new dynasty or if I already have another son ready to step in.
