His Royal Majesty Edmund I of England and France;
I have sent a diplomat to Paris to assess the possibilities of the addition of Ireland to the Auld Alliance. I assume that meeting will go favorably, and it will be at my discretion as to whether or not such a thing happens.
I write to you offering an alternative: Return Meath to the Kingdom of Ireland, Renounce your title 'Lord of Ireland', and we shall instead join the Alliance of Britannia.
I offer you this choice, to put it bluntly, because I would prefer to do business with the Devil I know than the Devil I do not.
