I played in an mp game for a while before my internet completly shut off. When I called up my ISP to ask wtf was going on the tech guy said that it was a problem resulting from the router being unable to recognize a change in IPs (ie me plugging in my laptop.) Any ideas on how to get my router to function correctly? (router type: netgear)

This has very little, if anything, to do with a technical problem in hoi 2.

I'll move you over to the MP experts. Maybe some person there might actually have encountered what you experienced, and has a solution.

Most netgear routers have a configuration option where you can select a dynamic or hardcoded IP.

I don't have one myself, so I can't point you in the exact location, but checking this might help. Failing that, try to google your specific router model. You should find step by steps to fix the problem.

Let me ask you few questions before I give you some sort of hints.

1. Have your used that laptop to access Internet through the router before or is it completely new setting? (i.e. you switched from other machine)

2. How do you connect router to the laptop? (UBS, network calbe, some other way?)

3. Isn't there any kind of installation disk for the router? (CD with some setup thingy)
