I would like to inscribe as a co-player to FRance (Petraca). I already asked him and I have his permission. I will play Jean Duc de Berri. Not sure if that gives me control over the region, I suppose it would. Either way it is fine. I only wanted a limited, but French, role.

Edit: I will play Auvergne, as Jean is also Duc d'Auvergne and Duc de Berri, for statistical purposes.

As per my qualifications I must say I haven't played EU: M that much. I am very prominent in 1558 though. In 1558 I have played for going on 2yrs, and I am currently King of France, and a Moderator.

Umm, I may have misses something. But in my stats I just lost 1 eco and 1 naval power. And it sais I dont have a port anymore.

Im very confused?
Yes, I'm really sorry about that. I'd made a lot of changes prior to inscriptions, but never had the time to update the stats until now. I don't like making drastic changes to played nations. I'm not sure Ferrara had much of a navy, but I've reinstated the port as some compensation for the loss of the 1 eco (which was the result of a comparison of Modena with Firenze and Siena). PM me for details/complaints.

---
I think the stats are all done now. After I email the tech map for uploading (tomorrow maybe), there may still be some discrepancies between the map and the stats. Please let me know if you notice anything odd.

At any rate, all the registered players are now reflected in the stats. There are still a few approved inscribers who haven't registered, but have started a court. Just a warning - if you don't register in NatStats your nation will remain listed as NPC... and may be given away.

Sorry I haven't been able to do the rules yet. ASAP, I promise.

Can I put in an application to play Brittany? It appears that, due to a frustratingly long bout of unemployment-itis, I've got plenty of time on my hands :( I've got experience playing Brittany, Wales and Bavaria in the past incarnation here.

Hi,

I'd like to ask if I could control the Paleologus dynasty in Montferrat? It seems that they are in the "Alba" province, part of the Holy Roman Empire. The dynasty there was very important historically, and the Margrave of Montferrat is John V's cousin (or second cousin, I forget exactly which). I'd like to ask if I could have the whole province of Alba, since that roughly corresponds with Montferrat's borders, but simply having RP control of Montferrat would be great too. :)

I would like to hand out some of my cardinals to other players. These players have full and unalienable right to play these cardinals, Princes of the Church. About the duties and responsibilites of a cardinal, pagans and heathens may read here. All cardinals are supposed to reside at Avignon. They may leave only with explicit permission -- in the case you wonder, this is historical.

The distribution of cardinals was done after a not-much-of-a-research, and since it’s hard to find out the relationship of these rather obscure cardinals to secular rulers, the list may contain errors. Well, c’est la vie. The distribution will be changed only if you can cite some source about any real allegiance, and any change ought to be done ASAP. The Limousin faction I assaigned to France en large. It’s very debatable, but they were certainly more the puppets of the King of France than those of the (*shudders*) King of England or the Duke of Bourbon.

The player of France gets to play Bertrand Cardinal Lagier, O.Min, Bishop of Ostia, Dean of the College of Cardinals; Gui de Maillesec, Bishop of Palestrina; and the Limousin faction: Gérard Cardinal du Puy; Guillaume Cardinal Noellet; and Hugues Cardinal de St. Martial.

The player of Castille gets Gautier Cardinal Gómez.

The player of Auvergne gets Pierre Cardinal de Sortenac

And the player of Savoy shall be honoured to play Thomas Cardinal Clausse, Inquisitor

Leonardo Cardinal Rossi and Giacomo Cardinal d’Itro shall be considered arrested by the player of Naples. They should be handled according to the rules of arrest. Naturally, they aren’t allowed to participate in elections.

This leaves the Avignon Papacy 8 out of 18 cardinals to play.

The list of the members of the Avignon College of Cardinals thus looks like this:

  • Bertrand Cardinal Lagier, O.Min., Bishop of Ostia and Velletri [player of France]
  • Pietro Cardinal Corsini, Bishop of Porto and Santa Rufina
  • Angelique Cardinal Grimoard de Grissac, O.Can.S.A., Bishop of Albano.
  • Gui Cardinal de Maillesec, Bishop of Palestrina. [player of France]
  • Jean Cardinal de la Grange, O.S.B., Bishop of Frascati.
  • Pierre Cardinal de Sortenac, Bishop of Sabina. [player of France]
  • Guillaume Cardinal d'Aigrefeuille, protector of S. Stefano al Monte Celio.
  • Gérard Cardinal du Puy, protector of S. Clemente. [player of France]
  • Giacomo Cardinal d’Itro, protector of S. Prisca. [anchorlink=note1]*[/anchorlink]
  • Niccolò Cardinal Brancaccio, protector of S. Maria in Trastevere.
  • Pierre Cardinal Amiel, O.S.B., protector of S. Marco.
  • Gautier Cardinal Gómez, protector of SS. Giovanni e Paolo. [player of Castile]
  • Thomas Cardinal Clausse, protector of S. Sabina. [player of Savoy]
  • Leonardo Cardinal Rossi, O.Min, General of his Order, protector of S. Sisto. [anchorlink=note1]*[/anchorlink]
  • Guillaume Cardinal Noellet, deacon of S. Angelo in Pescheria. [player of France]
[*]Pierre Cardinal de Veroche, deacon of S. Maria in Via Lata.
[*]Pedro Cardinal Martínez de Luna, deacon of S. Maria in Cosmedin.
[*]Hugues Cardinal de Saint-Martial, deacon of S. Maria in Portico. [player of France]

[anchor=note1]* Imprisoned by Charles of Durazzo, self-styled King of Naples, since 1382.[/anchor]

(PS I removed Montferrat as an independant because, frankly, their territory was miniscule and yes "they are a very important dynasty" but so are half a dozen others with larger territory that aren't represented on the map.)

Ladislav: After some confusion :eek:o I'll run with CCC original decision to give you RP rights of that branch of family

Okay, I think we can freeze Austria for seven days. Let us know if it's any longer so we can make it proper NPC.

Ladislav: We will have it as played by you. All this temp. freezing is against my nature. Either you're playing or you're not. One week of little activity will not kill us. If you feel you cant play Austria, post a valid resignation.

Some of you have been waiting for a while, so I'll stick my neck out once more and approve you, on a provisional basis.

Tem_Probe - approved for Burgundy.

Valdemar - approved for Savoy.

Beherovek - I know it's close but could you please reinscribe closer to the date when you will be able to start? Or at least, could you tell us the date you will be starting? L: Agreed

Gyenes - approved for Auvergne, although it appears I've given Berri to the wrong Frenchmen... Ladislav: I'd like to stay away from "co-players". You will be playing Auvergne. If Pet wants to give you control of characters, that is fine with us, but you have a stat-based country attached to your role

Badawi - approved for Navarre, but if you may be in trouble if you aren't happy with the change :p yup

Sheilbh - approved for Cologne.

Innocent - approved for Livonia.

Priam - approved for Brittany.

zerocool - I think we have already approved someone for Scotland. Besides which, as a new member of the boards there are some administrative issues that need to be dealt with by Ladislav. Stand by. Ladislav: We have a player who inscribed for Scotland. Choose another realm

Hawkeye1489 - approved for Cyprus.

Dewey - approved for Novogord.

New inscribees, please read the following:

Ladislav said:
ok. since we are getting more and more new players, here are some links you might find useful, but before reading those, prior to posting a court, make sure you post an official post in the Charts of Lands and States thread to let our stat meister know.

also, feel free to read through the rules and statistics in the aforementioned thread to familiriaze yourself with it.

the game mechanics have not been unleashed yet, although players are already role-playing. for a more detailed announcement click here.

finally, if you are new to the game and feel utterly lost, you are strongly encouraged to ask questions either in the Lounge where there is a lively debate (even of things not game related) or the Questions thread. There the discussion is more focused.

Lastly, if you still feel a bit at odds with the system, I will be happy to provide you with a Steward. Stewards are experienced players who will be your personal "guardian angels" to help you navigate the game and its intricacies. There is more information here.

:eek:o after all this bureaucracy, i forgot to mention the most important thing: enjoy yourself while playing and have a good time! :D

One quick comment.

I shall myself try to stay away from the co-player I suppose, though if you notice I have the rights to play any French character, save His Majesty. Still, my main character shall be the HoS of Auvergne.

As per Berri, the family name is Berri, thus the Hos is John of Berry (Though it is wise to point out his family name is Valois, because he was the third son of John II of France and Bonne of Luxenburg) , though he has been Duc d'Auvergne since birth along with Duc de Berri. His official title is Duke of Berry and Auvergne and Count of Poitiers and Montpensier.

I don't see any reason why you gave up Forez though. Clermont-Ferrand is in the said region and the city was founded by the Counts of Auvergne and has been part of their domain since 1120. Yet, only falling into the hands of the Berry family in the early 1300's after they won a dispute with the Count of Poiters, winning the lands from him and the title, and having it placed in their lands after they were declared a duchy, seperate from the royal domains. Clermont-Ferrand, the county in which it is located, is also part of the dauphnate of Auvergne.
