Anyone ever tried starting as a Count, then building to a King, and then abandoning that game to start as a Count of a rival king? and so on and so?

Just looking for a new challenge.

That sparks an idea... and since I haven't played multiplayer I don't know what is possible. Anyway, the simple version is that you pass a save game on to someone else everytime the ruler dies and see where the dynasty goes. But I think it'd be awesome if you'd pass control of someone in your dynasty on to someone else as soon as they gain a title. That way it starts off as one player and then he gives his son land, so its two people, then pass it on to a third son, grandson, etc. I think that would capture interfamily intrigue so much better as you'd have different personalities to deal with, etc. Then when your character dies you just pick up with the next family member of the dynasty to recieve land.

It's probably flawed somehow, but doesn't seem that far fetched. It could be fun.

An AAR centred around the Popes almost fits that bill. Well, it was obviously centred around the Papacy, but after each succession the game as well as the title was handed off to the next contestant on The Pope Is Right.

As long as you had compatible patches/mods, it'd probably be a grand idea for normal dynasties...

I suppose you could start off as a count with the goal of being king and then when you reach that goal look for other kingdoms that haven't formed yet and then start as a count near there with the goal of creating that kingdom. Once/if all kingdoms are created you could start at the most fractured and try to bring it back to strength.

What would appeal more to me would be to start as a count within the same kingdom and try to take the throne from your former dynasty.
