Howdy newbie here.

I was wondering, whats the economy like for Rome? I have only ever play Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsday and I can't make heads or tails of how it all works there X.X.

Also, what other Paradox games would it top?

Try the demo....

It's not fully accurate to the patched version (I presume) but will still give you an idea of how the game works.

Read up on some of the developer diarys on the forum, I think Johan explain the economic side of Rome pretty good. In comparison to HoI2 Doomsday though Rome is simpler, IMHO.

Generally each province has one ware to sell, and will only accept wares that it doesn't already have!

Building certain improvements lets you trade 1 extra of its wares to a province that doesn't have it already and can trade its local product which the other doesn't already have ... but you can only trade neighbours or oversea unless you invent the railroad ehh road (forget the rail).

Trading with foreigners gives more as they are easier to cheat! apparently they think so too and also get more for their wares, wonders of the world!
But be careful what you trade as selling missile parts (wood) to evil empires is not always what you want as they can use this to build weapons to kill you later. Same for other resources, some just makes it easier for the enemy to live well.

So all in all very simplified.
