Hey, ive just bought Rome Gold (and registered with that key)

On the package it says that Vae Victis is included, but as fas as i can see i only have the original version. I just updated to 1.3, on the CD files there seems to be no sign of Vae Victis...

Any ideas, or have i misunderstood?

You have misunderstood. VV is not a separate game, but an expansion that overwrites much of the original game; you only end up with one game.

But if you really applied the 1.3 patch to it somehow, you've broken it, as that is for the base game Rome only, the patch for VV is 2.1 . You'll have to uninstall the game, manually delete the game directory, and install it afresh - preferably not in the suggested directory, instead make a new one like c:/games/rome or whatever. I'm not sure if your version comes with 2.1 pre-installed, if not install that too into that same new directory.

I recently purchased EU ROME GOLD which says on the box (Includes the expansion VAE VICTIS). After I installing, it did not start. This is the only EU Rome I have. Is this a stand alone new game? When the box says "includes the expansion" I assumed it was. Now I am not sure. Is it an expansion that requires the core EU Rome to play even though it says it "includes the expansion" rather than it "IS" the expansion??

I realise that VV is an expansion, which is my point. There is no sign of VV on the CD.

When i install it i only get the original game, and there seems no way to upgrade it to VV. The features that should be in VV (in-game) does not apply to my game... (i upgraded it after i checked the game features, and i didnt upgrade manually, but through the update window on the start-up menu)

From ur answer it seems to me that VV is not in what i bought at all.

It is a standalone game. Please start your own fresh thread with full system and problem details.

If you truly bought Rome Gold and ended up with Rome only, that's a severe mistake on the part of whoever sold it to you. Where exactly did you buy it? Is is a physical version or download?

Yep, they've either sold you the wrong CD or the wrong registration code, most likely the former.

Please start your own fresh thread with full system and problem details. In particular where you bought it from; the game should never ask for a disc.
