I bought the game from a large franchised gaming store. It is a sealed box with GAMES FROM PARADOX written all over it. The Box clearly states that it includes the Vae Victis expansion. There is no STEAM logo anywhere on the box - only the Paradox Interactive logo.

I have registered the copy on the site.

I have tried to install the vv_232.exe file that I downloaded from the game launcher.

It tells me that I do not have Rome - Vae Victis installed on this computer??

Anyone have any ideas? I can scan the box to show you it is not a STEAM copy or anything like that. Why won't it install?

Ah, I always use the default installation folder... I think...

It is installed in

Program Files (x86)/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis - Rome

And the save game and other game files are located in the
*user*/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/Games/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis - Rome

Very strange. I just realized that when I see the game options, it says it is Vae Victis...

Ok, I will look for other patches, but the box clearly says it is a Paradox version, not brothersoft or steam or anyone else I have seen listed.

I also downloaded the patch directly from this site, in the thread marked for the 2.32 patch.

Rome:Gold IS Rome+VV, so that is normal and correct.

What version and checksum do you see now? They are visible on the main game menu, or when you go to host an MP game.

It may just be that the install went badly and failed to update the registry properly, usually an uninstall and reinstall will fix that. If you do that, reinstall outside the system path, somewhere like c:\games\rome\ .
