Rome (Gold) has stopped working

I uninstalled Europa Universalis Rome and installed Europa Universalis Rome: Gold. So far the game seems to run fine. But when I exit the game I get a pop-up message advising me that Rome has stopped working. The details given are:

It isn't a major issue as I simply choose the option to close the program. However, it is annoying.

Yes, only when I exit the game. As I posted, it isn't a major issue but it is annoying.

I always have that when I exit the game and also sometimes, the prog is blocking and I have to restart the comp or the game simply crash and close... that's quite annoying, even if I have automatic savings every 6 months...
