Rome Gold crashing during loading...

Hey everyone, please help I've been playing Rome Gold for about 5 weeks now with no major problems except that my 2.0ghz laptop takes forever to load...., anyways now the game is crashing on me during the load screen that says "Creating the World". I looked at the problem details and it said appcrash or something, unfortunately I should have included the report for help in this post!(I'll provide it if it will help) Anyways someone help, I'm halfway through destroying Carthage and really want to see it through.

Have you tried it after installing the new 2.2 patch released today? If not, see if installing it helps...

If you have problems installing the patch, try tips on post 4 or 6 here (use whichever you are more comfortable with; 6 is easier if you know your way around regedit, otherwise 4 is the better choice):

Thanks for a reply, I'll try your suggestion. I will have to reinstall the game first for I have deleted it in my attempt to correct the problem. Should I also try deleting the old registry entries and installing to a different directory too, I see alot of posts with people suggesting that?

Installing in a directory like C:\Games is preferable, and will cause less problems in the long run.

As far as clearing the registry, only do this as a last resort and if you know how to. Try reinstalling, then add 2.2 patch and see if it works first...

schryder thank u for the info, I reinstalled to a new directory and installed the 2.2 patch using the regedit fix you recommended and I'm up and running again and actually my game runs faster, bonus!! So if you'll excuse me I'll now go and smash Carthage(lucky me I saved my saves in another folder!):rofl:
