Rome Forum Threads?

Hello All,

I've finally gotten and started playing EU:R I'm surprised that there are only 2 pages in this forums. I know the game is a couple years old - do threads get archived after a period of time? If yes, is there a way to find them?

I was hoping to read threads versus ask a bunch of questions I'm sure have been asked and answered multiple times before.

For example I have only two people with any martial skill I can appoint to head an army - even though I have a dozen or so characters with high martial skill I would love to use. What jobs do I have to give characters so that I can later have them lead armies?

Is the carthage "elder" job the same as censor? I am playing as Carthage and people have the ambition to be censor - but I have been unsuccessful to find a censor job.

Down at the end of the page you can set for how long history of threads the forum will show. For some reason it's standardised to 1 month in the Rome sub-forum.

1) On generals: they have to be of some age, they have to be free of state service currently. Then it gets tricky. IIRC in Rome only ex-censor (and maybe queastor?) can become general. You have couple of ex-censors at the beginning but then you get more.

2) Yes, all republics have same system but different names sometimes.

For Carthage to get generals.

Best Way is to appoint your good Martial skills characters to Civic Magistrate then to General job chain. You can also use the Master of Sacrifice to Censor to General job chain.

Lastly, if you create unled armies of 4 or more the Senate will try to appoint someone within a reasonable time. Create several such armies, and eventually they'll pick a good army candidate; you can then combine the armies under that general.

I set the thread length to 100 days instead of 1 month, but how do I trigger the display? There's no enter button to press.

It's on the right side of the screen across from the drop down menu.

It's in the same line of the drop down menu you have just used, on the right side. It's dubbed "Show Threads"

I know where the "Show Threads" is. But when I change from Last month to Beginning I still don't see more threads. That's why I wonder how I can trigger the implementation of the change if setting to Beginning only doesn't change anything yet.

It works fine for me. How many pages do you see? It should jump from 2 to more than 100 when setting to Beginning. Of course, the first page shows the same threads.

Might also need to refresh in case your browser has the page cached. If you still can't see all threads then you might have to contact one of the admins.

Even with refresh I can't see more than the 2 pages. Maybe, it's the internet at my office - we have some limitations, which tend to have weird effects here and there. I should try again at home - but there I have my wife and kids breathing down my neck

That was it. At home, it works. At the funny office version of the internet, there's no "show threads" button in the right corner.
