I've played the game starting with many various nations... Being a Romanian I evidently started the game with Romania as well... Here is what I found to be less than accurate (as not to say bugs):
1. The USSR never claimed the "Iasi" province (#433) as it's own. Not after the R-M Pact, not after 1945. That province is actually part of Romania to this day (as it was since the 2 Principalities were united). Basserabia is only comprised of the "Chisinev", "Balti" and "Ismail" provinces.
2. The province named "Tulcea" in HOI2 is the one that should actually have the name "Constanta", while the current "Constanta" province should be named "Caliastra" or "Durostor". Also the main Romanian port to the Black Sea is the city of Constanta (situated in the so called "Tulcea" province), not in the Quadrilater (so called "Constanta" province). This is particularly annoying when the Bulgarians join the Axis and demand "Constanta".
3. It was interesting to realise that even if Romania was the Germans' ally htey would still sign the historical R-M Pact, giving up Basserabia without any consideration for their ally... Somehow that doesn't seem just right. Maybe a variable in the signing could be the possible alliances between Germany and the countries directly affected by the said Pact.
It is irrelevant that I, as the Romanian commander, never gave in to these requests, or that Bulgaria never made it past the second year in the '36 scenario...
If I find more I'll get back to you.
