Romania (faction free) Russian invades ALLIES joining

Hi ,

I am playing as Romania I am fascist and I didn't join the AXIS, USSR has declared war on me , I get a pop up say

"Legionary Romania has called France in as our ally in the soviet-Romania war"

The thing is no I didn't and no I don't want to. Why is this happening and can I stop it?

Its a "feature", and as far as I can tell a hardcoded one. There is very little that can be done to prevent this, such as forming your own faction.

Even if you don't invite them to war, they can join the war by their own initiative if they are in the same faction with you.

Figured it out , join AXIS then immediately leave. unfortunately USSR has gone to war with just me but they have sat on my boarders and not attacked , one failed naval landing
