Hey guys. Anyone knows if there is a way of getting the old roman unit model back to replace the new legion model, which I think is awfully ugly.

This is just my speculation but perhaps because these are Legions now they opted to go with a model that represents a Legion.
The odd part of that idea is that the new model is that of a Centurion and not the Legate, so perhaps instead of representing the Legion itself it represents the cohorts armies within the legion since it can be split.
The old model would have been legionaries and not officers so maybe that’s why their didn’t want them representing the Legion cohort units.

Yeah, I understand the logic why. And I don't really disagree with the reason itself. The only thing that is bothering me is that I think it's not a very beautiful model. I really like the legionary one though. It's a subjective reason.

I like all three designs, and i get why a Centurion would represent legions . Times like this I think what if Imperator Rome had a ''EU V spirit'' with sprites changing with technological advancement and unit types.. but i am a EU4 fan with 2615hrs on my belt so i'm biased lol.

I like the Velites model, too - cool Wolf hats! - but I agree that they should keep the Principes model for something.

Something like:

* Velites as the default levy model
* Principes for mostly heavy infantry levy (like if I split off a bunch of heavy infantry or something)
* Centurion for Legions (I actually really like the Centurion model, as well.)

Also if the Legion could be holding an aquila standard when not in combat that would be awesome. Wishful thinking.
