Rolling back to 1.092 on Steam

So, like, I can't do that anymore. Does anyone have a copy of their own 1.092 installation? I figured I'd ask on these forums since I'm most likely to find help here.

Edit: Don't just mean the patch. I mean the whole shebang so I can compare it with 1.111 and replace what I need to replace.

I don't recall the 1.092 version ever being available as a Beta.
Sharing the whole shebang would be illegal i suppose.

If you had bought it at GamersGate you could install the base version (1.06) and install the patch.
Maybe this could even work with the boxed Steam CK2 disc. Maybe.

I meant the file set up. I'm not entirely sure, however. I mean, we're not torrenting shit. We'd just be comparing two file sets that we as consumers who purchased this game can copy for our own use. Not selling it, of course. But we'd have to ask the Big Guys to be sure.

I unpacked the files from version 1.092 patch, could I possibly delete the folders with the same names and then replace them with the ones from the patch? Along with the exe file being swapped out for the one from that patch? I've never had to manually patch something.

Can't recall unpacking the patches myself which came as exe files, so i don't know .
edit : *Ouch* Of course i had patches extracted before installing them regularly.

the patch for 1.092 is close to 500mb*, while the full game version is 1,2 GB, so i guess there are quite some differences between those and between the patches (music and sound is only ~230). The deleting files and patch overwriting idea would very probably not work with this game. Even with 1.111. Didn't try it myself.

You are probably well advised to start a Conversation with a developer or supermoderator for this issue.
Sooner or later a mod might respond, but that could simply end in closing this thread.

Yeah... You're pretty much entirely right.

I asked @AndrewT about that. I'm hoping he'll give permission. Because playing 1.092 again would be nice.

And having the vanilla game would mean I could just apply that patch and enjoy that version again.

I'm curious, what is it about the old version of the game that makes you want to play it instead of the latest version (or 2.4.5 for those that hate unbreakable alliances)? I only ever played version 2.3.6 and later.

Performance probably? If you switch back to 1.111 using Steam you will see how fast CK2 once was. It's truly staggering how much the performance has worsened over the years. Back then you could run speed 5 without hickups or slowdowns.

I've the 1.06 installer & 1.091 patch on my computer. 1.092 is available on a certain .at server, google indexed.

looks like you will need to obtain the original version of game from Paradax then install 1.092 patch on top. good luck
