Rogue servitors should get arcology, genetic ascension, xeno-compatibility, bio assistant traits, and bio envoys

It's actually slightly negative for RS to start on a Gaia planet, what with the pops inheriting Gaia habitability, but great for RP-purposes.

Yeah, I love that suggestion. @Pancakelord hit that one right on the head.

They don't inherit ring world habitability on a Ring World Start so why would they do so on a Gaia start.

The Game only gives the habitability to the primary species, not the secondary species at least thats how its coded right now and if you remove the restrictions from life seeded with a mod the bio pops on the Gaia world will not get Gaia habitability.

So its not a negative but rather a positive for Rogue Servitor to start on a Gaia, its actually better than a machine world and right behind a ring world for them.

This is true (if they fix the bug where secondary species aren't being changed to ring world/Gaia preference), but they don't have it as bad as fully organic empires, since the machine pops can go wherever regardless of habitability.

One small quibble on the thread title -- Machine Worlds are good for RS and should stay.

Why?

So the machines can be the Morlocks working a toxic support-machine planet under the idyllic paradisaical Eloi Habitat which protects their few precious bio-trophies.

i was just thinking it's a lot of ascension perks, but you're right.

IDK about leaders (as I'm assuming you're basing this on the Culture, I interpreted those "Referrer" individuals as more like ... government consultants than actual leaders or managers).
If anything this would make sense as a leader trait for a Drone, as Stellaris already has AI-assistants for Bio-leaders. This would be the inverse
  • "Bio-trophy Companion - This Drone unit has earned the trust of a particularly gifted bio-trophy, whose atypically acute skills further enhance it's own subroutines [+XYZ stats]
  • {stats could scale if you have certain pops in your empire e.g. x1.5 if you have any intelligent pops, x2 if you have any psi pops} ).
But they should definitely have a policy to use either machine, bio, or a mixed pool for envoys IMO.
There is no better way to sell your way of life to the biological races than by using one of their own. If it's a liberal democracy ... show how hedonistic you are, if its a spiritualist... well at least they wont immediately open fire on your diplo-droids if they see an organic "in charge", whilst still letting you send a diplo-bot off to the local driven assimilator.
I've added your idea to the title, it's SO good

Necro!

Well, we got the arcologies AND the arcology districts!

I decided to add a bio-trophy assistant leader trait in my personal mod. It has the same effect as Sapient AI Assistant and can only be acquired via a Scientist leveling up (which makes it quite rare)

Can we add to the list that RS should have access to some trade mechanics? I feel like commercial packs could justified as a means to get more consumer goods for the bio trophies and that an RS might allow some level of trade between the trophies. Also allow non-criminal megacorps to established branch offices on worlds with bio trophies.

Honestly, feel like all gestalts should be able to establish some limited level of trade with other empires but if it can't be universal to all of them, even as limited to weak versions of commercial packs. RS really should have some level of trade mechanics because of the bio pops.

Honestly, would also be kind of neat to even have a RS civic that lets them function as a mega pseudo-megacorp.

I wish Paradox spent more time thinking about and delivering truly unique playstyles, not just change the veneer. Balance be damned tbh. If the only approach to "balance" we have is to make everything feel the same, then no thanks, I choose imbalance over monotony any day. Not saying that imbalance and unique playstyles are synonymous, just anticipating the standard counter-argument to every suggestion made in the forum.
